Time and time again, Tomlin proves everybody wrong.  What will it take?  A Super Bowl to shut up all the Naysayer’s?  Yeah, a few bone head clock managements and challenges.  But, who the else is better suited to lead this team for next 10 years!!!!  Your thoughts…
Gerry Dulac

Well, they never though they could move on from Chuck Noll. Then it was how do they replace Bill Cowher? I have always subscribed to the theory of Charles de Gaulle, who said the graveyards are filled with indispensable people.

I know it is early but is there a position that the Steelers may go outside the organization to improve via trade?
Gerry Dulac
10:51
Not unless there is a significant injury

Will the next teams we face be waiting for Pickett to roll to his left now that they know that's the only way, he can complete passes? That seems to be Canadas MO and use the same play book multiple weeks in a row good/bad or ugly. (usually ugly).
Gerry Dulac
10:52
No, I don't think that is an attack they will use all the time. But I think the idea of moving him around and using his feet worked well, if for no other reason it got him away from what looked to be the uncomfortable spot in the pocket.

Good morning Mr Dulac.  Wednesdays are great days.   We finally used the QB sneak and push from behind and it worked, but should we be concerned that our play uses the 200 lb  wide receiver for this play instead of the 6.7 280:pound tight end?   Or should we just be happy that we tried something new.
Gerry Dulac
10:53
Probably the latter, but I agree -- might need just a little bigger body in there. But Allen Robison is 220

Do you think its fair to say Seattle doesn't study tape on players before signing them? So far this year Bush has one tackle.
Gerry Dulac
10:55
I think that's more than fair. More proof that some GMs will sign anyone just to show their owner and/or fan base they are working hard to improve the team. Right.

Did Tomlin finally admit in his press conference yesterday that he spews a lot of BS?  That has been obvious for a long time, but I was surprised that he admitted that.

Do we need to max protect (TE, RB blocking) to allow those patterns that went for TD's to Pickens and Austin if so can we do it more than once per game? Those DB's were no match for Austin's speed and quickness.
Gerry Dulac

Usually, to throw deep in the NFL, you need an extra blocker to give the QB that extra second he might need to throw it deep. In case you haven't noticed, the league has become a lot of check downs, underneath routes and cross patterns

Gerry: Lots of Dan Moore complaints in regards to Jones not playing, but isn't Chuks worse and at a big cap hit?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
Chuks is not worse.

Good morning Gerry, did the Steelers go to a prevent defense when up by 16? So frustrating to see Raiders march down the field...twice!
Gerry Dulac
10:57
Hey, that happens all the time in the NFL. That's why some coaches call a prevent defense "prevent the win."

Good morning Gerry. Why do the Steelers not start their rookies. I see all over the league, guys like Gonzales, Banks, Forbes and Cody Mach as examples starting and playing most of the game. Why trade up and get jones and not play him. Same with Joey Porter jr. Makes no sense. Your thoughts?  Thanks
Gerry Dulac
10:58
I'm running out of money to pay these guys!

Gerry, will Harris be extended, and at what terms?  Also, it’s a foregone conclusion Canada “retires” at the end of the season, right?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
That will be the battle I want to see. Forget about "extended." How about picking up his option year??

I think the big question to ask is why we're not seeing more of JPJ. Pat Pete seems to have truly lost a step. I'd rather the growing pains of a rookie than see the vet get picked on.
Gerry Dulac

Porter is playing a little more each game -- 27 snaps in Vegas. To me, he needs to play more. Live with his rookie mistakes.

Can we put to rest the importance of a coaching tree?  These guys from a “great” tree go out and fail then filter back to their original home.  Why would you kick a field goal, take points off the board and then kick another field goal a min and 20 seconds later?  No choice but to go for touchdown the second time and if you don’t get it we are buried on our own end.
Gerry Dulac
11:00
I think you're missing the point about the tree

After the Chubb injury and then the questionable roughing call, do you think Minkah's confidence may be a little shaken or is he the type of player who can shake that off and still play hard and fast 100% of the time?
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Not at all.

Hi Gerry, just a thought about Pickett, last season teams didn’t have much info or tape of him, didn’t really know what to expect. Now they have had a full off season to study him, and prepare, maybe that has something to do with his rough start?
Gerry Dulac
11:01
And there you go....!!! Yes it does.

Am I the only one who believes Harvin’s improvement has been pivotal to the Steelers success? It seems the field flipping punts have saved games for us.
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Pivotal is a strong word. But it helped in Vegas.

If you told us before the season that KP would have more passing yards, more touchdowns, a higher completion percentage and more wins than Joe Burrow after 3 games, we’d have been ecstatic, wouldn’t we?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Well, everybody was already ecstatic before the season started anyway. This would have put them over the top.
OK kids, we're out of time. Good stuff today. We'll do it again next week. Onward
