I wouldn't go that far. But, I will tell you, they really like Everette. Their depth at CB is/was really good, best it's been in years. But that's contingent on having JPJ there

Assuming Rodgers and Rudolph stay healthy and the young QBs never see the field this season, what can Allar do from this point forward to show the Steelers they don’t need to draft a Quarterback in round one next year? Is it possible they already know the answer based on what they’ve seen this year? Thanks.

There's not a lot he can do. He gets very few live reps in practice, if any, and will probably never see the field. I don't know if they KNOW the answer right now, but I think they have a pretty decent feel where this might be going.

Hey, Gerry. I'm sure you'll get this question a few times, but: Help me understand the Steelers' position on JPJr. They seem to be accommodating him; there doesn't seem to be any animosity. Does the team genuinely see a path back to the field for him in black and gold? Or is the team merely biding its time, getting him back on the field to show he's healthy, then dealing him before November 10?

This is all about Porter finally saying HE feels healthy. He was deemed healthy to play in Week 1. Yes, to a degree they are accommodating him and there's not much animosity, aside from their disappointment on all levels. It is more important for Porter to get back on the field, show he's healthy so another team might be interested in trading for him and paying him what HE thinks he's worth

True or False: Joey Porter Jr. is a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday (10/1/26) as of 8:20p.m. EST?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
True, because he's been a member since Week 1

The Steelers are only favored by 2.5 points against the Browns.   Don't you think it should be a lot more?
Gerry Dulac

Have you seen the way they've played in Cleveland the past 8 years?

At times over the last 5 years, it has felt like the Steelers defense had comparable talent to the 2005-2010 team. Do you agree? If so, why are they so inconsistent from game-to-game relative to the 2005-2010 defenses? Is the difference coaching — was LeBeau just that good?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
No I don't. And, yes, LeBeau was that good and the talent was much better!!

A medical and non-football question - which I would understand if you did not answer, but would appreciate a brief comment - is Mike McCarthy’s health OK?  He seems to struggle a bit with breathing at press conferences - there is quite a bit of wheezing.
Gerry Dulac
10:48
Roberto, I will answer, but only to say I haven't paid attention or noticed, and if I did I'm not medically qualified to evaluate
NY Steel

Who has been the Steelers best defensive coordinator since LeBeau?
Gerry Dulac
10:48
Nobody who measures up to LeBeau, which is a steep hill to climb

Do we finally see a game where Bernard starts over Roman? I thought R. Wilson had obviously a great start, but it becomes so irrelevant when a drop turns into a 10 point swing. It feels like Bernard is a higher caliber player
Gerry Dulac
10:49
Eventually perhaps. But at least we're seeing more plays from Wilson so far. Not many, but some, like the TD

Has Bill changed his mind or does he still want to justify his game plan to start Allar for the rest of the season?
Gerry Dulac
10:49
I think he had a coffee, maybe a bagel, and settled down. I little Moe, Larry and cheese perhaps
NY Steel

Do you think Everette will develop into a better CB than JPJ?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
That's a big step, but I think he can and will be pretty good
Charlie from Sugartown

Gerry  what is the issue with Metcalf and the multiple flags and non-flags with him so far this season?  Not defending him but some of his drops could easily have been called defensive pass interference and a couple of the holding calls have been pretty ticky tacky IMO?
Gerry Dulac

I agree with you 110 percent. Good observation. Hey, I forgot to pay you!
OK kids, I'm out of time. Thanx for the question. See ya next week
