You said the Steelers need to use a top pick and get Cam’s replacement. I don’t disagree but don’t they need some youth at IOL? They haven’t used anything higher than a third-round pick there since DeCastro. They’ve been at their best when they had All Pro players on the interior OL.

I don't have a huge problem with the interior of their OL. Their biggest need is a stud DL. Has been for 2 years. If they pass again, they get what they deserve.

If veterans get Wednesdays off, when do they practice?  They watch film early in the week and have a walk through late in the week.  Do they really only practice on Thursdays and Fridays?  If they only practice two days a week it shows and explains a lot.  This team needs more practice not less practice!

If Bill Belichick’s reportedly may be in jeopardy after no playoff wins since the 2018 season, a blowout playoff loss in his last playoff appearance in the 2021 season, and several blowout losses this season, is there any reason other than AJRII being fixated on stability and the Steelers not having fired a coach since 1968 for Mike Tomlin, with no playoff wins since the 2016 season, a blowout playoff loss in his last playoff appearance in the 2021 season, and several blowout losses this season being in no apparent jeopardy for the foreseeable future?

Gerry… on the touchdown about Matt Canada…. My reaction was not that he didn’t care… but he seemed surprised, and then at the end s appeared to scoff…. It looked to me like that was not the play that he called…. And both outside receivers ran go-routes…. That really doesn’t look to me like a Canada play does it?.

In looking at the QB play after these first few games, it seems Purdy  and Stroud are very good with accuracy and decision making.  For Watson, Jackson and Pickett, maybe not so much. Is that an oversimplification or what are your thoughts on the QB play we have seen?

Good morning Gerry.  Thank you for the time and the chat.  Do you think KP's comments on changing the protection on the TD was a subtle jab that he should be given some freedom to make changes in play calls.  Will that be a change that comes out of the bye (allowing QB to check out of plays called) or was the change diatribe from MT just more coach speak.  Thanks.

No, I don't think so at all. Every play has "checks" within the play that he can use, and that's what he did in that instance. He changed the protection when he saw the Ravens were in zero coverage (no safety help). Good move because the Ravens came after him with six players and he needed the extra second.

Morning Gerry.  Are you a bit surprised there is no contingency plan for Canada this past season?  Glen Thomas is the best they came up with?  I'm also extremely worried about the defense.   2nd highest paid defense should not look like this.  Tomlin the DC is way overrated

Gerry, do you think the Steelers are designed top to bottom to exclusively play and win games like this past one? Personally I don’t think you’re ever gonna get much further than 9 or 10 wins like this, but it seems like even from a gameplan perspective, the Steelers are happy with a first half that they just kept close and didn’t make mistakes instead of actually catching anyone off guard ever. Does it change as KP progresses?
