Good Day Sir!
IF you were a new age GM and in charge of the Steelers' roster...
What players would you be looking to trade for future draft picks in this non-rebuilding rebuild?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
I might start with No. 11 and one of the QBs, obviously. 55 would be another. But I don't think your new-age approach will apply with the Steelers.

Do you see Tomlin's "not making change for the sake of change," as steady leadership or stubbornness?
Gerry Dulac
9:56
Maybe a little of both. It's the approach in which he believes, and it has proved to be the correct one over the years when things go bad. And, OK, I know it is bad right now. But it is only 5 games. As Dick LeBeau once said, "I've seen sicker dogs than this get well in a hurry."

Do you think MT is the right coach for this reset?  This is the same guy saying this D could be dominant.  They have not been dominant in yesrs
Gerry Dulac
9:57
I actually think Mike Tomlin is the perfect guy for a reset. Winning a first-round playoff game? Now that has been a different story.

Hi G! Oh beloved Steelers your shortcomings are manyfold of late! That being said, one thing baffles me for a couple of years now: Why the heck do we spot blitzing, when we absolutely have to stopp the pass? It hasn't worked for aeons against one Tom B. and I haven't seen it work in any of our horrid Playoff exits. What's their reasoning? Wasn't that kind of our identity? Isn't Brian Flores the guy that absolutely perfected that with the fins against Lamar? If there's no identity on offense, that's bad. But if you give up the proud identity you have on defense...what are you even doing?
Gerry Dulac

Great observation from such a long distance!!

Did you see players laughing and joking on the sidelines, as Maulet said? If so, whom?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
I did not. But that doesn't mean there weren't some who were.

Gerry, What we are seeing is a mediocre team trying to overcome a rash of injuries. Do you think Art II and Omar realize the mediocre part is the much larger problem?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
I have to imagine they see what you see. I'll tell you what else they see -- no No. 7 to overcome their deficiencies

When will we finally see mark Robinson get a helmet on game day?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
Not anytime soon I'm afraid, but I like him. More importantly, they like him too. He's just not ready to play right now.

Hello Gerry
Thanks for your time and i follow your chat from europe (Switzerland). My question is: what needs to be done to help Kenny Pickett to succeed in his first season?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
Wow, we're getting chatters from all across the world.....Well, above all else, they need to play better on defense, keep the game close. And Najee Harris has to start performing like a No. 1 draft pick
Chris

Hello Gerry, thanks for your time.
If you had to point out the weak link in the O-Line, who would it be?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
I don't have a huge issue with the offensive line. Believe me, it is not one of the main problems.
Freddy Krueger
10:02
We're about to see how great MT is/isn't,  would you agree?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
I don't know about great, but we've seen him do this many times before. That's why he has never had a losing season.

How long before MT and this staff admit fault with Harvin?  We let Waitman go and he is now reigning Special steamer of the Week and Harvin had multiple kicks of less than 35 yards.  For a bad team, losing the battle of Field Position makes it even worse. What’s your thoughts?

Gerry, The 2022 season is a mess and following fast but the real disaster would be for Art II to sacrifice 2023 draft picks or cap space to add 1 or 2 victories to the 2022 season. Let the stink of 2022 stay in 2022. Agree or no?
Gerry Dulac
10:05
Agreed. I don't think you will see draft capital sacrificed.

Gerry,  If this team is 1 and 8 which is likely and the offense continues to struggle can MT continue to support Canada?  Sullivan could fill in since he has held the position.  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:06
Look, I get that he has to support him publicly, but that doesn't always mean he is happy with him privately. And, yes, that is always a real distinct possibility.
Rob
10:06
Will Art Rooney get involved in making changes if things continue to get worse?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
Not during the season. That will come after the season. Trust me
Chris

Hello Gerry
I still think the future of the Steelers is bright and with Kenny Pickett they don't have to pay 45Mio. to the QB Position in the next 3 years. How much death money does the team carry from the Ben contract? Can we hope for a big spending in the next free agency? Thank you very much
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Ben still counts $10.3 million this year. And JuJu counts $5.6 million, Tuitt $4.9 million, Ebron $3.9 mill. Those all go away next year
Chris

Hello Gerry, i have a lot of questions today, so thanks for your time =) i read all the time that the coaching staff of the Steelers is the cheapest in the league... is this the truth? if so, what's your thoughts about it? and is there a salary cap for coaching salary? Thanks a lot
Gerry Dulac
10:10
There is no salary cap for coaches. It's up to the individual team. I'm not sure of the rankings of the highest-pad staff or the cheapest staffs, but a lot of that has to do with the size of the staff. And I believe the Steelers staff is among the smallest in the league. But I will tell you Tomlin is among the highest-paid coaches in the league.
Tomlin stubborn
10:10
Tomlin needs to make one change that would improve the Steelers on both sides. First let your coordinators coordinate. The problem with the streelers is simple chain in thought. Tomlin's team is confused, the offense thinks getting off the field on 3rd down is what they are supposed to do, but that's the defenses job. The defense think staying on the field and giving up points is what they are supposed to do, thou that is the offensive job. Too many cooks spoil the sauce
Gerry Dulac
10:11
I thought it was the stew?? Now I'm confused.

Hi Gerry, How much coaching would it take to consistently have Harris attack the holes vs dancing around or running parallel to the line? He even hesitates on pass plays now after the catch!
Gerry Dulac

Who let this guy ask such an insightful question?
