OK, kids, we're going to start our chat in about 30 minutes so get those questions ready.

Hi Gerry I like the way we are using our 3 TE’s on offense.  Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
Well, two of them for sure. My colleague Ed is examaning the position and will have some eye-opening numbers for you in the next couple days.

Please tell me the steelers will at leaste consider trading for Peterson?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
Sorry...no can do

Even if Bell returns this week or next, how effective will he really be and how soon? It's gonna take at least several weeks to get in football shape, and by that point the season might already be determined? Am I wrong?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
You are not only not wrong, you are 110 percent correct. This is a guy who has missed two training camps and the first 7-8-9 weeks of the season. How good do you really think he will be?

Although the Steelers did a good job of not being baited into retaliating against Burfict on Sunday, if the league takes no significant action for his latest assault are the players simply going to let bygones be bygones during the next Bengals game on December 30?
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Quite the opposite. The offensive players are tired of his act and can't believe the league does nothing by fine him. If anything, it will keep boiling and boiling until someone really goes after him.
Stillers4Life
11:01
Is it beyond your understanding also that a league that contends it's looking out for player safety continues to allow someone like Burfict to play on Sundays?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Yes it is. I would suspended him for at least one full season. Fines and three-game suspension are not working. This is not just a dirty player, this is a bad person whose sole objective is to injure people.
AtlantaDan
11:02
Since 6 points are more valuable than 2 points, do the Steelers hold back plays such as that used for the successful 2 point conversion on Sunday and, if so, why not use that when, hypothetically speaking of course, you are having problems getting into the end zone with first and goal on the one?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
They do not hold back plays. They have an expansive playbook and use only a certain percentage of those plays in the game plan for a given week. But they are not holding any back for a really big moment.

Hi Gerry, they usually give big contracts to their draft picks (as opposed to free agents), assuming they don't pay Dupree the $9 mil for his option year, why not cut him and Burns loose, and put those big money deals towards free agents? Same cost, better players
Gerry Dulac
11:04
That is always a possibility, though I don't think they are going to give up on a No. 1 pick (Burns) after three years. Maybe four.
Burfectly Abnormal

When does Burfect get the 1-year suspension?  How many more head shots?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
I don't know what the league is waiting for.

Do you think part of the problem with Brown's modest production is that we no longer have a speed WR on the outside that would make a defense honest I was hoping Hunter could provide that, but he seldom gets the reps.
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I'm not going to totally dismiss that possibility because it always helps when you have a home-run threat who is fast and 6-foot-4.

Hi Gerry, I’m in the majority of not wanting Bell to be our featured back if he returns, but I think fans should be more realistic.  Wouldn’t that tandem of Bell/Connor be better than one or the other?  And if Connor goes down, do you believe Ridley/Samuels can handle all that production?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
On paper, you are correct. If, in December, your two backs are Conner and Bell, then that's a pretty good tandem. Look at the Patriots and Eagles the past couple years on their way to the Super Bowl. Each team used several running backs, as many as three, for certain games and certain situations.

What would you predict the Steelers will do with the freed up cap space made available from no longer having Bell or Shazier on the payroll
Gerry Dulac
11:09
Part of it will go to a new contract for Ben. But, if you think they are going to bid for a high-priced free agent, that probably isn't happening because they have never done that.

Hi Gerry  why is Washington's develpment going backwards??
Gerry Dulac
11:10
I wouldn't say it's going backward, but it's stuck in neutral.

Hi gerry it looks like to me the new DB coach and Artie Burns just do not understand each other Your thoughts???
Gerry Dulac
11:11
No, they do. That has nothing to do with Burns' problems on the field. He doesn't always understand down, distance and assignments.

Gerry, any chance with all the struggles in the secondary they use some of the cap space from Bell's holdout to go after Patrick Peterson?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
No.

11:12
do you think it is at all possible for ryan shazier to play again??
Gerry Dulac
11:13
I'm not qualified to answer that question.

11:13
I know the cost would be high, but with all the struggles at CB in recent years, why not go after Patrick Peterson?  This would immediately turn a weakness into a strength for at least the next few years (lining up nicely with the rest of Ben's career).
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Hey, to all the people who keep asking this question -- I think it would be a great move. I like Patrick Peterson. Great player, good dude. I just don't see the Steelers doing that because they never make that kind of move for a player with that type of salary.

11:15
Do you think the Steelers will trade for a top notch corner and replace Artie Burns
Gerry Dulac
11:15
No.
Matt
11:15
Will Burns be in rotation after bye week or will they stick with 24 or 20?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
We shall see. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't.
Alex
11:16
If I’m the Steelers I send a first or second rounder to Arizona for Peterson. He’s 28 and changes the entire defense. Do you think steelers will entertain and do you think they should?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
I keep answering this question and I'm not sure why I do. The answer is no. The Steelers have never traded away a future No. 1 pick and they're not going to start now.

Hi Gerry. Love your radio show you do with Stephon Tuitt every tuesday.  In your opinion what is one thing that Terrell Edmunds has excelled at and one thing he needs to improve?  Thanks.
