Morning! Do you know if the Steelers had actual negotiations w the Bears over the CB? I would think their brass might be a little gun-shy dealing w Khan after they were eviscerated over the Claypool trade and he was being called the “Khan-artist”…Not sure how those things play out in the NFL these days. Thanks.

What impact do you think the following unexpected events have had on the steelers roster and playoff performance over the past 5 years?
L. Bell walks away from the team at 25 yrs old.
AB walks away at 30 yrs old.
Decastro’s play falls off a cliff at 30 yrs old.
Pouncey’s play falls off a cliff at 31 yrs old.
Shazier tragically injured at 25 yrs old.
Tuitt walks away from football at 27 yrs old.

Is that an abnormal amount of foundational players disappearing in their prime?
How far back did those events set back the steelers development?

Hi Gerry, appreciate your frankness especially regarding the HC position. When I look at the OL, it seems to have regressed. The only thing we changed was the LG position. Could it be that Dotson was much better as a people mover than Isaac who is better in space together with a hall of famer like Kelce. Something very unexpected.

the Mitch restructure and extension is looking more terrible by the day. 2nd and 3 he calls a timeout and then throws an interception into triple coverage. I think we would be better off with Mason as the number 2. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for the chats Gerry.  I didn't think I could see a worse offense until I watched the Jets-Giants game.  It could be worse Yinzers!  Has Tomlin lost this team?  Every week it is the same pathetic start and the players have to know this.  I realize they are pros and dont take plays off but one would think they would come out like monsters given the past 7 games.  A slow here and there is acceptable but this has gotten to a point where I dont even turn the TV on until the 4th quarter!
