Is Colbert the true team MVP?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
Ok kids, here we go with the first question. And the answer is...No, why?
Tony

My thing is a sign of a championship team is when they are playing bad and still find away to win the game, what are your thoughts.
Gerry Dulac
9:54
I would agree with your thought

9:54
who would you rather have on your team, ben or terry,,,then ham or watt aand finally noll or tomlin? thank you
Gerry Dulac
9:55
I'll take Bradshaw, Ham and Noll in the 70s and I'll take Ben, Watt and Tomlin in the 2000s

As a life long Steeler fan, it seems like unless Ben wins another Super Bowl, he and the Steelers will never get the respect they deserve from the media. But their success, stability, and how their organization is run speaks for itself. I just have to shake my head. Thank you for your response and feedback
Gerry Dulac
9:58
I couldn't agree more, except for one thing...I think the Steelers get the respect and recognition for what they are -- one of the best, if not the best, franchises since 1972. Now, Ben? He could win four Super Bowls, like Bradshaw, and never be mentioned among the top15-20 quarterbacks of all time. Troy Aikman won 3 and all you ever hear is about how he played with Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin and a good Cowboys defense. But Drew Brees??? One Super Bowl and he's one of the greatest of all-time

I guess we're seeing why Ben wanted Randy F as the coordinator, anytime Randy's game plan sucks, Ben goes 5 wide 2nd half. Maybe they should dump RF and make Canada the O-coordinator? He seems to bring more to the offense than Randy!!
Gerry Dulac
9:59
The offense flourishes best when Ben is playing up-tempo and going no-huddle. Do not disparage Fichtner. One of the good qualities of an offensive coordinator is knowing when to trust your quarterback

Why was the defense is base against 3 receiver sets on 3rd and longs?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
I'm guessing they were thinking the Cowboys would run the ball and they were daring GG to beat them

I don't understand the close contact rules of the NFL's covid protocol. Wouldn't everyone who was in the huddle with McDonald be deemed to be in close contact?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
I can't sit here and accurately explain how contact tracing works, but you would think what you say would be correct

All the soothsayers suggest Dobbs over Rudolph. Dobbs has been let go from 2 teams and is 3rd string after Tomblin had temporary insanity and got him back. Rudolph ends up with winning record even after being knocked out cold and struggling afterwards. He has played 12 games thrown 13 TDs and 1800 yards and has been sacked 15 times. What's the Dobbs boys record?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
All I can tell you my friend is that those soothsayers know NOTHING about the Steelers, the way they operate and who is the backup QB. Don't get me wrong, I like Josh Dobbs a great deal. He's a great kid and a great teammate. But he is not the No. 2 quarterback.

I know Alualu is getting closer to being back, but the depth at defensive line is less than “varsity” as Tomlin would say. One injury to one of the starters and the defense is in serious trouble. A lot of people projected the team would address the depth of the defensive line early in the 2020 draft, and it really looks like they should have. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
They were never going to address the defensive line early in the draft and, like I said earlier, anyone who thought that knows NOTHING about the Steelers. Hey, you can't have Pro Bowlers backing up Pro Bowlers on the defensive line. They address depth each of the past two years with Isaiah Buggs and Carlos Davis. Give em a chance. Are they future starters? I doubt it. But you can't have quality depth at every position. The salary caps precludes that.

Gerry, worst press conference ever yesterday.  Instead of a lesson on covid procedures why couldn’t someone ask Tomlin what he intends to do about a NON existent running game. Love to hear your thoughts on what needs to be done to gain a yard when needed.
Gerry Dulac
10:07
I think the Covid issues overshadowed a lot of questions like that, including the decision to go for it on fourth-and-1 and not kick the field goal that gives you an 8-point lead. That way, you can't lose the game. Maybe go to overtime, but only if the Cowboys make the two-point conversion. This way, he gave the Cowboys a chance to win the game in regulation...and they had a chance.

I think Clown Brown will be a shadow of what he was.. and I think he went with Momma Brady just because he keeps trying to screw the best fans in the world as we are.. do you feel the same ?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Uh, I do not
Eric
10:08
When do you see the Steelers investing in a reliable backup QB or successor to Ben via trade or 1st round selection? At this point I find it hard to believe they have seen enough from Rudolph to have any confidence is his ability to lead the team.
Gerry Dulac
10:09
I see that happening three years ago when they drafted Mason Rudoph. What...you and everyone else are upset and think he's terrible because he came in cold and unexpected off the bench and was high with a sideline pass???
Johny the good
10:09
Gerry it’s ok to say it so here we go we want your deep, very deep thoughts on Mason, I have notice we as fans don’t have any faith in him after we have seen from last year to this past Sunday, not even as backup much less the reigns after Ben.. do you really think he has the talent? Thanks for your view..
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Sorry to inform you -- I don't have very deep thoughts about anything related to sports, or even Mason Rudolph. Look around the league. There are not many backup quarterbacks who are a whole lot better than Rudolph. Give him a chance.

Good morning Gerry.  I'm shocked how fall Sean Davis has fallen since his days as a No2 pick.  I was actually excited to get him back when Washington cut him thinking it was just a dumb WFT move.  But with the injuries and No34 still not meeting 1st rounder expectations, Davis continues to get 0 snaps.  Heave you heard anything about him and why?  Thank you in advance.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
I have not, other than he is there and available but behind guys who are playing well, including Cam Sutton and Mike Hilton (when he's healthy). I thought he might be a candidate when Bush got hurt but I was told that's not the case.
Paul
10:12
Tomlin is doing a really good job of being an agent for Mike Hilton in a contract year. I think he’s mentioned his absence in every post-game remark since his injury. Is signing Hilton a priority for the team this offseason, or has he truly priced himself out of Pittsburgh?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
Haha. He is a good player but he is not a priority. Smallish nickel backs don't often price themselves out of any team

It's hard to know for sure, but the surname "Mondeaux" is most likely an alternate spelling "Monteaux" or "Monceaux," both of which roughly mean "Mountain" in French. So if you could start calling No. 99 "The Mountain," we'd all appreciate it.
Gerry Dulac
10:14
Merci.
Paul
10:14
I know the story was great, and his play was solid, but it really looked like Spillane was largely silent against the Cowboys. Do you see Williamson taking over that position sooner rather than later?
Gerry Dulac
10:14
Nope
Paul
10:14
Gotta ask! Would do you like at Augusta this week? I think DJ will get his green jacket.

With a bad Cincy OLine and an unsuccessful rushing attack, is this the game the Steelers defense blitzes every play?
Gerry Dulac
10:15
I sure hope so. The last thing they want to do is play coverage against Joe Burrow. Go get him
mrbig
10:15
no? Colbert has 8 1st round picks on defense, got Minkah, got WIlliamson, traded up for Bush etc, etc. Where would our team be right now without KC??
