No they won't, alas

Steelers O-Line leads NFL in least Sacks Allowed vs another top 10 team in sacks.  How do you think O-Line will fare in Cleveland?
Gerry Dulac
11:39
They should be fine, though they did allow a season-high 3 against the Rams
Johnny
11:39
Jerry we know 3rd QB don’t practice much but from what you have seen, who is a better QB in your view.. Duck or P. Lynch? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:39
Paxton Lynch can really throw the ball, I will tell you that. It's very impressive to watch him step into a throw and let it go.

Gerry, Bud Dupree has spent 4 years underachieving. Is there something about him now that signals that he will continue to play at a high level, AFTER, he gets the big money? I just have to wonder if he isn't another one of these players who sits back on his laurels after he gets the money, like he did in his first 4 years?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
You know, Bud doesn't strike me that way, that he will sit back on his laurels after he gets the money, even though I get your point. I will tell you that is something every NFL coach and GM fears and tries to calculate when handing out big money.

Given the physical and quick nature of the Browns WRs, as well as the undisciplined nature of said team, do you think it is realistic to see over 200 yards in penalty yards assessed tomorrow night by both teams combined?
Gerry Dulac
11:45
Heck, we saw it Sunday against the Rams. Watching an NFL game, if you can, is very difficult and annoying to do anymore because of the penalties, reviews, challenges and endless discussions among the officials. If you, as a fan, don't have a dog in the fight, how can someone sit through that? Yeah, yeah, I know -- fantasy football and gambling.

Ger,  why so touchy on the Roethlisberger questions?  There will be life w/o Ben you know.
Gerry Dulac
11:46
It's the questions that wonder if the Steelers will choose between Ben and Rudolph. That's not even an issue and won't be.

11:46
Why do you think the Steelers completely stopped using the open pitch run options they used against Cincinnati for their first win. Seems that using these options at least opened up some running lanes.
Gerry Dulac
11:46
See above. It has something to do with the team they played.
Jimmy
11:47
Much respect for you Gerry and your work, but you sometimes forget how bad this team was the last 8 games Ben played.  2-6?  He looked bad against New England, as usual, and we can blame it on the elbow, but at some point, you have to acknowledge that he may not come back and Mason is the future.  I know I know...'Next', just not sure why you still think he will be an elite quarterback next season in his late 30's, coming back from a major elbow surgery.
Gerry Dulac
11:47
You're right. Trade him
Patrick
11:47
How weak is the Cleveland offensive line and may this limitation provide the Steelers a key to a big win ?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
I think it will be a BIG factor

Barron played well last Sunday, but he was familiar with the offense he was facing. Have you noticed a steady improvement fro him lately, or was that a one-off?  And, should Tiger recuse himself of his Captainship since he selected himself as a player, as some have suggested?
Gerry Dulac
11:48
I think that certainly helped him, but I have no problem with him -- or Tiger as a playing captain

Are these teams that are "tanking" to rebuild underestimating the difficulty of building a winning culture (see the browns) and why to Steelers fans so underappreciate that they have a team that can loose the amount of talent they have and still win?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
Ask that question to former Browns tackle Joe Thomas. He would agree with you 110 percent!! As do I.

Is Mason completely immobile? It seems just his age would give at least some scrambling ability. I think he and the offense could benefit greatly if he just ran once or twice per game if for no other reason than to just show the threat of it.
Gerry Dulac
11:49
Trust me, they don't want him running.
Dr. K
11:49
TJ doesn’t seem to be in coverage anymore. Is he exclusively a pass rusher now?
Gerry Dulac
11:50
Well, that's because they play so much sub-package football when he and Dupree are two of the four rushers. When they're in their base 3-4 defense, which isn't often, there would be more opportunities to do that to confuse the offense.
Dr. K
11:50
JuJu hasn’t performed the way a #1 WR should. I sit plausible that Diontae may pass him, this year or next, to become #1?
Gerry Dulac
11:51
No. First off, that's just a number, just like whether James Washington is No. 2 or No. 3. After 111 catches and 1,000+ yards receiving in 2018, JuJu is their top guy until proven otherwise.

Gerry, Am expecting a tough game in Cleveland. If they run, run the ball what defensive changes might the Steelers make to counter it?
Gerry Dulac
11:52
That's what the Steelers will focus on most with the Browns -- stopping Nick Chubb and the run game
Alan F
11:52
Future contracts: do you think Steelers will compare Khalil Mack's contract numbers in regards to what TJ Watt will be looking for when his rookie contract is up?
Gerry Dulac
11:53
No. Mack's contract is in a league of its own. Watt will get a big contract, but the Steelers won't judge it against Mack

I’m starting to wonder if James Conner is “glass”—in the way Chris Fuamstu MaaFala was.  Great runners, but more than hard to keep healthy
Gerry Dulac
11:53
I wouldn't call either "great" runners, especially Fu.

11:54
¿Do you envision the Steelers running the table the remainder of the season?
Gerry Dulac
11:54
No, nor should you. Even if they lose two more games, they will end up 10-6. And who would have thought that after 0-3 and 1-4??
Tony
11:54
Can't let out practice secrets? Is that a policy? What's the point in going? Or was that tongue-in-cheek?
Gerry Dulac
11:55
They don't let us watch practice so we can tell you and everyone else what they're doing.
Alan F
11:55
Interesting, so you say, Payton Lynch has the strongest arm among Rudolph and Devlin Hodges.  Now, between Duck and Rudolph, who has a stronger arm?
Gerry Dulac
11:57
Yes he does. That's why he was a No. 1 pick. And Rudolph has a stronger arm than Duck, which is why he wasn't a draft choice
Texas Steeler
11:57
I've heard PG reporters say the Steelers have always been "up" on Dupree despite perceived poor performance by fans. Now, he is performing at a level that everyone notices. Were his first 4 years really that good? If so, why wasn't he already signed to an extension?
