Some folks think Belichick is through. But I think he a plan to tank this season, draft a good QB and turn the Pats around quickly. The Steelers meanwhile seem to be stuck mid pack while avoiding losing seasons. Which plan do you think is better?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
I don't think Bill Belichick is interested in tanking, nor ever would be.

Gerry, In a recent article you said the Steelers had two choices; fire MC or demote KP and give MC a last chance with MT/MR. Do you think they chose the former because they lost complete faith in MC or because it is KP who is getting one last chance?
Gerry Dulac

Little of both. Thanx for reading

Hi good morning, i’ve been of the belief that a quarterback that is solid, but not elite can win a Super Bowl with strong enough complementary parts. my friends tell me that the current NFL no longer works that way and only elite quarterbacks can win. Do you think that’s true?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
I think you're both right. But that team with the solid QB better have a lot of really good complementary (you spelled that right) parts.

Do you think the MC firing indicates that at least Art/Andy/Omar recognize there is a systemic problem with how Tomlin has built his staff and that assistance is needed? It would be best if Tomlin recognizes it but he appears pretty firm in his beliefs.

Those types of decisions only come from the VERY top.

Good morning Gerry - do you expect Mike Tomlin to have his contract extended beyond its current 2024 expiration date regardless of how this season turns out and, if it has not yet been extended, could that adversely impact attracting potential OC candidates from outside the organization with other options who may be wary of joining an organization where there is uncertainty whether the head coach will be around after 2024?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
I do. That might not be what you or a lot of people want to hear.

With the change in OC(s), will the offensive philosophy (no QB INTs, max throws to sidelines, minimal QB scrambles, simple reads/routes) change as well?  Opponent Defenses now know (or already know) what's coming/how to prepare.....
Gerry Dulac
10:38
They better change, right??

WIth Canada gone...whose seat just got more hot...Tomlin or Pickett?
Gerry Dulac
10:39
Neither. For now.

Hello . Thank you as always for the chat . It seems to me that the best OC candidate for Steelers next year will be Mark Whipple since Pickett thrived under him at Pitt . Would you agree ? Steelers are familiar with him and vice versa . Also , is Munchak not a better candidate for OL coaching ? Happy Thanksgiving.
Gerry Dulac
10:39
No. And no.

Please tell me we're not gonna get another "ties to Tomlin or oganaization" hire like Leftwhich. Really need something fresh and different.
Gerry Dulac
10:39
Haha. That's still a conversation for a later date

Do you think the Steelers will make a claim on Leonard, or do the injuries and money scare them off?
Gerry Dulac
10:40
Probably the latter.

Please tell me Mr Rooney will hold Tomlin accountable for this mess.

What do you think?

It seems that there is general relief in Steeler nation over the firing but at the same time there is disappointment (at least with this longtime fan) that they finally did what should have been done 2 years ago. We've lost two years of TJ, Minkah and Cam. Actually 3 because there was nothing that justified MC being the OC to begin with. That bothers me as a fan the most. Please pass that on.

You can't look back, only forward. The past is only good for one thing -- learning. Dwelling on it is only defeating.

Hi Gerry. Dejan Kovacevic is reporting that "Yes, it was Tomlin's decision. He initiated it, he pushed it, and Rooney, to repeat, allowed it. Anyone anywhere suggesting otherwise is mistaken and, ultimately, will prove to be mistaken." And he said that he is "not guessing at this." You reported that it was Rooney that fired Canada. Do you stand by your reporting on that?

I don't read or care what other people say.

How long do you think Kenny's leash is now? Does he get all of the rest of this season and next or if he doesn't improve the rest of this season does that make them reevaluate?
Gerry Dulac
10:41
I don't think it got any longer. But it does guarantee another year for sure

Is Moore a better run blocker than Chuks and is that why he’s still starting?
Gerry Dulac
10:42
Broderick Jones is a better run blocker than both.
Ok kids, thanx for all the questions. Sorry, have to head to the locker room. Happy Thanksgiving
