OK kids, let's get started...go!!

Gerry: do you get the sense that the fanbase has been slow to really embrace Russ as our QB?  For example he seemed to take a lot of heat for a pretty good performance in Cleveland.  Maybe it's because of the one year deal or going 4-2 with Fields, but it just seems like there are still a lot of skeptics.  I think we have a hall of fame QB playing near the top of his game behind shaky protection while throwing to a weak collective of WRs.  Do you think this Sunday will be the first time the Steeler Nation truly embraces Russ?
Gerry Dulac

Yeah, but all that does is identify the clowns who see only what they want to see. It was the same mentality that existed with Kenny Pickett. Don't get me wrong, I like Justin Fields. He might have been the team MVP for the first six games after the way he got them off to a 4-2 start. But he's not Russell Wilson. I think 10 wins in three years in Chicago is proof enough. If the Steelers thought he was, they would have  made a deal for him long before they signed Wilson in free agency.

Tis the season, Gerry! In your honest opinion, what do you think the Steeler’s rest of season record will be? Requesting you don’t give us the “We’re only worried about Cleveland” runaround
Gerry Dulac
10:02
I never give that kind of run-around Tony. I leave that to the players and coaches. I think they will be 3-2.

Hi Gerry.  I appreciate you.  It is rather hypocritical that the NFL is cracking down on gun gestures while the announcers, media, etc. call the game a shootout and the QB a gunslinger.
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Perhaps, but I understand why they do it

Gerry: the Browns offense looks pretty formidable if Winston can avoid interceptions.  Porter dropped a potential game sealer Sunday.  Minkah has been allergic to the football for 2 years.  Do you think the Steelers can win with this shaky secondary and suddenly mediocre pass rush if they don't generate a couple of significant turnovers?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
That's a big IF my friend. 152 career TDs, 106 career interceptions.

P.S. Yes, I am jettisoning Ogunjobi after the season and giving Benton his position
Gerry Dulac
10:04
Well, Benton already has a starting position. He doesn't need Ogunjobi's.

If Diontae Johnson is released by the Ravens, do you believe the Steelers should pick him up? Why or why not?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
No
John

Gerry, good morning. seems like Benton would be more effective at end than nose tackle, I know he doesn’t have the Smith/Tuitt frame, but then again neither do Ogunjobi or Heyward. If you’re gonna run the 3-4, even though base is a minority of snaps, you have to have a nose tackle to clog the middle. Draft or sign a free agent nose and move Benton to end. Your thoughts?

He is not built for DE

Is Tomlin the favorite for coach of the year? He should be.
Gerry Dulac
10:07
He should be in the conversation. Dan Quinn will garner some sentiment. Sean Payton, unfortunately, will get some. Jim Harbaugh. Right now, I'm voting Tomlin, even though I don't have a vote

Are the Steelers are among the favorites for the Super Bowl?  I'm feeling really good about the Steelers and my fantasy team taking it all this year!  Heeeeyyyyooo!!!
Gerry Dulac
10:07
I wouldn't go that far. Let's see them win a playoff game first.

After last week's performance Russel Wilson is probably going to want, and deserve, real money next year. What moves will the Steelers need to stay under the cap? Who stays, who goes, who get restructured?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
Too early for that conversation.

Hi Gerry. I know the remainder of the Steelers schedule is a guantlet but do you think they will face a better offense than the Bengals the rest of the way?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Yeah. Eagles and Ravens.

10:08
What do you think the Steelers record will be down the stretch?  I'll say 4-1, loss against Philly.
Gerry Dulac
10:08
That's very optimistic, but not far-fetched

If russ doesn't re-sign, maybe we sign jameis?

Good morning Gerry.  Bad calls/no calls are part of every game.  Who decides if a play should be reviewed by the game officials or league office?  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:08
The league office
Bill
10:08
Jpj will learn?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Of course
Brian
10:09
I guess we should get ready for a stream of complaints about JPJ.
Gerry Dulac
10:09
So far Brian...none that I see in the queue

Gerry, what do you think are the main qualities that separate a franchise quarterback from a regular quarterback.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
It's many things, some of which are those intangibles we don't see. It doesn't always have to do with size and arm strength. But athleticism, heart, intelligence are among them. The desire to have the ball when the game is on the line. Never panicking. Making the other players around you better.

Hello Gerry. Do you think with Russell’s competence spreading the ball around the field, that it might decrease the need to retain Pickens after this season? Assuming the Steelers resign Wilson, of course.
Gerry Dulac
10:13
That will have nothing to do whether they re-sign Pickens or not. Plus, don't all of a sudden think the Steelers receiving issues are fixed. That was the Bengals defense after all
Bud
10:13
With Russell Wilson having a good season, so far, could his cost on a new contract possibly exceed $35 million, or worse, $40 million per?
Gerry Dulac
10:14
I think $30 million per is more like it.
