In your opinion, is Minkah doing what is asked of him to play, or do you believe he’s lost a step and not taking as many risks for splash plays. Ty.
Gerry Dulac
10:14
He's not lost a step and he's doing exactly what he's asked to do

Good morning Gerry. The Steeler D has given up a number of late easy looking drives this season as in the Bengals game. That said, doesn’t that seem to be the case with most NFL teams these days? Defense coaching strategy or lacking player skills? Your thoughts.
Gerry Dulac
10:23
It does, and a lot of it is because teams start playing prevent and the really good teams/quarterbacks know how to take advantage of it

Hello Ray. I believe the Steelers run defense has been a problem for sometime. With the competency overall of our linebackers, is the problem simply the talent level of our defensive linemen? Or is our scheme part of the issue in that regard? Ty.
Gerry Dulac
10:23
I'll tell Ray

thanks jerry for your candidness. there seems to be a cadre of steeler fans who are dissing pickens and his actions and want him out of pitts. but i ask you, if he is traded, which will not happen, what do we have left as a real receiving threat? who else can get consistently open for significant yardage? will we not be in a deficit of points in most games? and, he is not out in public breaking the law as some other pitts. wide receivers have been accused in the past.  thanks jerry.

I will tell you what a coach once told me -- when the production outweighs the aggravation, you keep him. When the aggravation outweighs the production, you get rid of them

Gerry: what can be done about the uncalled false starts?  Cincy and KC seem to employ this to a huge advantage.  Do coaches no longer talk to officials before the game to stress what to look out for?  Do the Steelers need to teach Jones and Moore this technique?  It seemed to cross the line from ridiculous to absurd with Orlando Brown on Sunday.
Gerry Dulac
10:25
I really don't think any teams are employing false starts to their advantage

A revenge match against the Browns in Pittsburgh. With that tough loss still fresh in everyone’s mind, do you expect the Steelers to come out with more aggressive play calls or will they stick to the usual playbook, focusing on establishing the run game first?
Gerry Dulac
10:25
Yes I do Nate

Hello Gerry. Assuming for a moment that the Steelers sign Pickens to a new deal, what would be your guess as to what that contract may look like? Ty.
Gerry Dulac
10:26
You know, Bud, that could be a big assumption
Bud
10:26
Hello Gerry. If Russell wants to stay in Pittsburgh, do you think a 3 year contract would be long enough to keep him? Or might he want, and have the leverage to demand a 4 year deal? Ty.
Gerry Dulac
10:26
It wouldn't be anything longer than a 3-year deal

Hey Gerry…I thought the unsportsmanlike penalty against Pickens for appearing to shoot a gun was justified.  I didn’t believe Pickens’ explanation.  What did you think of the call?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
I understood the call and why they make it

What's your sense of the players' attitudes towards Pickens' repeated antics, some of which hurt the team with penalties etc.? And do you think the Steelers extend #14 or give him the D. Johnson treatment (more trouble than he's worth)?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
I'm sure they're not crazy about them, but, all in all, I think they like the guy

The Steelers have done a pretty good job drafting wide receivers over the years, including guys like Antonio Brown, Diontae Johnson, Martavus Bryant, Chase Claypool, JuJu Smith-Schuster and of course George Pickens. At the same time, they’ve hit some clinkers too - Limas Sweed, Dri Archer, Markus Wheaton to name a few. Then the good ones all seem to either have or to develop attitude problems, making their selection in the draft considerably less impressive. For all the praise the Steelers receive for picking these guys, isn’t some criticism in order for how so many of them turned out to be in the end?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
You raise an interesting point, but maybe it's just the diva nature of the wide receiver. No other position is football cultivates or fosters that attitude

Hi Gerry, love your insights in these chats.  Terrific work.  I contend Joey Porter’s lack of discipline in his pass coverage of opposing WR’s will cost the Steelers a loss or two on the road to the playoffs or in the playoffs.  I say he needs to ride the bench for a game or two.  Not sure Coach MT or TA know how to fix or correct Porter’s coverage skills?  Appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.

I don't share the same concern just because of one game. There are some things he need to correct and hopefully he will. But I wouldn't get in a lather over one game.

What do you think are the most critical issues the Steelers have to address before the end of the season if they hope to make a deep play off run against the Bills, Chiefs, and Ravens.
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Right now, the most critical is just win a playoff game

10:31
what has happened to Mike Williams?  Wasn't he supposed to be our deep threat along with Pickens?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
That was the old Mike Williams. This is the new Mike Williams

Happy Wednesday Gerry!! Thanks for your chats as always!    I sense a level of confidence on the team as it hasn’t been for a long time. People is not posting stupid things, the team seem so focused on a “different result this year” do you sense the same thing on the inside ??
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Not especially. Confidence arises from winning games, from being 9-3. It's not the other way around. Every team starts out confident. Well, most teams anyway.

Hi Gerry, any updates on the plans being made for Pittsburgh hosting the 2026 draft?  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:35
I have none to give. They are always making plans. What  I can tell you is I believe he staging area will be outside Acrisure toward behind Stage AE and people will be funneled around there down North Shore Drive toward PNC Park

The Steelers now have 2 radioactive starting players essential to the passing game.  #14 and #24.  Pickens IS NOT getting PI and holding calls against him and JPJ is IS getting ticky-tacky ones called against him.  You don’t need a PhD in NFL rules to see this.  Is this fixable?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
You'll have to ask the officials. I think they have a live chat every Wednesday too

Despite MWilliams not getting any targets, do you have a sense whether he is drawing attention from the D and creating soft spots for
Gerry Dulac
10:35
No I dont

Hi Gerry. Am I being too worried if I say , when it comes to the up coming Browns game , this is the first time I have ever wished the opposing team's starting QB was still playing?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
You are being overly worried, but I get your point.
Jim Bow Dean
10:36
I say sign Tee Higgins in free agency, draft a WR in rounds 2 or 3, and let Pickens walk after 2025 or trade him in this offseason. What say you?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
They won't let him just walk away
