You could make a case they belonged in the Pro Bowl this year. You're asking All-Pro, which means the best at their position. I wouldn't go that far, but sure it's possible.

A couple of your colleagues have raised good questions about Ben and Tomlin.  There is also talk of extending both of their contracts.  Why not wait a year and see what happens in 2019? That would put Tomlin on a bit of a hot seat and also limit contract risk if Ben is injured or performance drops. They should be able to easily extend both of them a year from now if they desire.

They will extend Ben before that, and they should. There has been absolutely no shred of evidence -- NONE!! -- that his game is declining. He is better than ever

People seem almost personally hut by Tomlin’s not being truthful about why Brown didn’t practice/play. He was clearly busted for it, but how else do you think he could/should have handled it?  Do you think Tomlin owes it to fans to reveal that sort of thing? (I, myself, do not.)

You're on to something. No he doesn't owe them anm explanation. He is not an elected official. The only person to whom he owes an explanation is the guy who employs him -- Art Rooney II -- and, to a lesser degree, Kevin Colbert. Beyond that, he is free choose what he says but also how he might be perceived by the public.

Javoin Hargrave showed he can be a very good player. TJ Watt took a very big step. Maybe the most surprising was Matt Feiler, who was very good filling in for Marcus Gilbert. And JuJu was even better than last year

Happy NY! Do you think the timing of JuJu being named MVP added to AB’s incident? I think the timing is ironic. AB seems to be very sensitive and the team naming another player at his position MVP didn’t help his attitude.

As someone closer to the Steelers than the actual fans, can you point to any reasoning behind the demotion of Mike Hilton in the last few weeks? I thought he was a bright spot and it seemed as though out of nowhere he was being benched. Any idea why?

If it were up to me, he would be the only one among the starters. You saw Bostic disappear in the last 4-5 games so you will probably see him disappear for good. 98 is a liability in the pass game. And Dupree is due $9.2 million against the cap next year and that will just not happen. However, i expect the Steelers to ask him to take a pay cut and keep him because they're already lacking bodies at maybe the most important position in the 3-4 defense -- OLB

Despite a massive collapse late in the year, are concerns overblown because they are the Steelers? Are they a decent #2 corner and starting inside linebacker away from another serious run?
