I am not a Tomlin hater - his record speaks for itself. BUT, he has to be the worst game manager of all time, for someone with his success. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
He has some issues with that, but I'm not sure I have seen one ever cost them a game.

Hi Gerry, Gronk laughed and made fun of Davis in the 2pt convertion.  No flags, no fines, no comments.   To much respect fo the Pats?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
When you do what he does, you can flaunt all you want. They didn't respect him when they suspended him, did they?

Gerry, we constantly hear how well this team is coached.  Then when it matters most, Butler single covers Gronk, Haley goes turtle and Tomlin has clock management issues (again).  Horrible coaching performance.
Gerry Dulac
11:04
You wouldn't ask me that if Jesse James didn't drop the ball.

Hi Gerry - while AB is out - do the Steelers look to bring in another receiver (DeMarcus Ayers) or go with Hey-Bey and Hunter?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
No.
GoSteelers
11:05
Catch/non-catch drama aside, the game was lost when Steelers could not run out the clock with less than 4 minutes remaining. Agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
It was lost when Jesse James dropped the catch.

Hi Gerry - how did you assess Cam Sutton's play during Haden's absence?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
See above answer...that's been the bright spot in Haden's absence.

Hi Gerry! If Eli somehow catches the last throw, what are the chances that Ben gives credit to sideline call from coaches, instead of talking non-stop about his heroics?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Uh...let's see....slim?

Hi Gerry - I know he was on the fringe of the roster. Any insight into what made the Steelers release Watson and then not bring him back with the Conner injury? Seems like there is more to the story.
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I'll get 20/20 on it right away

Once upon a time, it was a firmly held belief that the players on the field determine the outcome of the game and the officials should not be a part of the outcome. Boy, I sure miss those days.

Cue "Auld Lang Syne."

Gerry. Why wasn't Bell used in the next to last series when the Steelers were trying to run out the clock? Connor ran and was hurt and was followed by Touissant. Was bell injured?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
No.

I'm thinking the NFL should have those replay calls "open Source" and let the fan base vote on catch,TD, etc......
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Yeah, that'll speed up the game...

I am a firm believer that you have to overcome adversity throughout a game.  The Steelers responded well late in the game with the Catch and run to JuJu and the following play (which was a touchdown, by the way).  There has been a lot of fans commenting that Bellicheck would have been better prepared in the last few seconds than Mike Tomlin.  I am not one of those, but I do have question the call to DHB on the play before the interception. in a similar situation, with about 3 minutes to go, on 3rd and 4, a 3 yard pass was thrown to JuJu and he was tackled short.  Why was this this same strategy repeated after the no-catch overturn?  I don't think a lack of preparation is the problem, rather overthinking.

I think most coaches over-think what's going at times. They're all trying to outfox the other guy. But it's easy for us to criticize..

Disappointed in Tomlins game day coaching. He is far inferior to Belichick and cannot or is unable to think ahead. Tomlin was not prepared to call two plays or worse, was not thinking ahead that if they kicked the FG which leads to a 10 minute OT, that a won - OR a tie- with New England gives Pitt home field advantage edge throughout. At home with 2 of the 3 scenarios in OT favoring Pitt. Tomlin is incapable of thinking that far ahead. Very disappointing.

Yeah, that 11-3 record that is tied for best in the AFC, that 20-4 record in the past 24 games that is second only to NE (21-3), is embarrassing. Fire him!!

11:11
Hello Gerry, thanks for your time and insights and Happy Holidays to you and yours. The defense and Butler had a pretty good game and plan against NE. Should I have high hopes that Haden could have a big impact on that scheme and the next go around with Gronk?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
I think there is every reason to be optimistic. Look, it was one game. The Steelers did this in 2005, lost at Indy with Peyton Manning in the regular season, came away with a confident feeling if they were to meet again, and beat them in Indy in the postseason on the way to the Super Bowl. But, to your other point, Haden will have nothing to do with covering Gronk.

Hi Gerry, I’m concerned that AB’s injury is worse than what they are saying. Any thoughts on your end?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
He won't be ready till the postseason, if then. If they get a bye, he will have 4 weeks between games. They have to see how his calf starts to respond.

Any chance catch rule is revised?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Maybe discussed. Tweaked a little. But not changed.

If we win this week and jags lose, will we play our starters against the browns?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
Ben, Bell, Cam maybe. No more than a half.

Gerry, Does Gilbert return this week from suspension and if so, is he expected to start? Assuming his injury is healed.
Gerry Dulac
11:16
He is back, he will start and there is no issue with his injury. That is healed.

Hey Gerry, has there been any talk from the coaches about the progress of Brian Allen?  Hes a big, fast DB that could help double team the large TE like Gronk, Kelce, Henry.  This is a copy cat league, any team with a halfway decent TE will exploit
Gerry Dulac
11:17
I don't know if there is talk, but he has the body type and speed to run w him. Doesn't mean it will work. He is a rookie after all who has not been exposed to such an assignment
Still sick to my stomach
11:17
Gerry, can we please move on from taking about the Pats game?  Quite honestly, thinking about it still makes me want to puke.  What can the Steelers do to improve over the next two games to excel in the playoffs?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Do you think they really need to improve? If JJ doesn't drop that ball, would you be thinking they need to improve. They don't. They just need to stay healthy and do their job. If they do, they will end up back in the AFC championship game. And I'm not even going to say it will be in New England, because I believe the AFC title game will be in Heinz Field, anyway.
