OK kids, we're going to start our chat in just a few minutes so get ready.....
10:53
Ok kids, here we go....Fire away!!

Admittedly snarky and a week late but wondering if you still think there would be no Ravens hangover vs the Vikings?
Gerry Dulac
10:53
Thanx for the snark. No, no hangover. Just a horrible run defense.

Does Schobert return at a discounted price? He’s second in tackles with 99, maybe he plays better with more DL help.. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Schobert is solid, nothing great, but fine. Like Bush, he'd be better with Tuitt and Alualu in front of him
Gerry P
10:54
Who are your two starting inside linebackers next year
Gerry Dulac
10:54
The same two you see right now. Unless I can get Devin White and Micah Parsons

10:55
Can we put to rest the “fans” that think 39 should not be top priority to sign!?
Gerry Dulac
10:55
No need to put it to rest. Those people are clueless.

Gerry, Ben reminds me of my senior golf game. I birdie a few holes now and then, pull off some improbable shots, don’t lose many balls but struggle to keep an 18 handicap. Hate to see Ben go but time for a change. Rudolph next year?
Gerry Dulac
10:55
Haha. Good analogy.

Did edmunds finally wake up?   He looks quick, in position, and is tackling.  New contract?  Release?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
I don't know that "wake up" is the reason, but he's been OK lately. You notice him for good reasons on the field. And his durability is definitely a plus.
Dave from Naples

Good morning, Has Tuitt been collecting a paycheck this year without playing?  What is up with him?  Thanks & Merry Christmas!
Gerry Dulac
10:57
yes he has. He's on IR, and players on IR get paid a full salary.
Patrick

Merry Christmas Gerry and thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. All we have heard from training camp on is how Ben is washed up and should have retired. Yet, he is the main reason the Steelers have any chance at the playoffs. Isn't it past time he gets the credit he deserves for being a furure hall of famer?
Gerry Dulac

The people who want to chirp about No. 7 are the people who have zero understanding of what he means on the field, not to mention what he continues to do. Yeah, he's 39 and doesn't move like he used to. But everyone is spoiled and deluded by what Tom Brady has done and is still doing at 43. You think Drew Brees and Philip Rivers played better than Ben at 39? No they didn't. I get weary of the people who want Ben to be 28 again.

Merry Christmas Gerry to you and yours! Do you think there's any way the D-line will hold up against the run at KC? Do you believe they will allow Ben to come out throwing the ball trying to score early and often?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
Well, KC running game is not as good as Vikings or Bengals or Ravens, but when you're giving up  an average of194.1 yards in six of the last seven games something is inherently wrong. And, because the running game has disappeared and knowing they will have to score points against the Chiefs, I expect them to try to score the best way possible and as frequently as possible. And that's usually by throwing.

Gerry.. Is there any O-Lineman that has had a good enough year to be a lock to return as a starter? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:04
None of them are locks, but probably the two rookies. Dotson too. But don't hold your breath.

The Steelers have to strongly be considering offering Joe Haden an extension or at least 1 year deal?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
Yes they do and likely are. The bigger question will be what does Haden want to do: Take a 1-year deal to stay or seek a better and final contract in free agency.

11:06
Realize not many splash plays, but does 34’s durability factor in to a contract offer or has the ship sailed? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I think it helps, for sure. Edmunds isn't terrible. He just hasn't been what everyone expected of a No. 1 draft choice.

Hey Gerry!  Happy holidays! Should the heat get turned up in your opinion on the special teams coach this off-season. While the unit does have a few blocked punts in my opinion they have underachieved not just this year but now for several years especially our punters then they leave Pittsburgh and go elsewhere and have solid seasons just like Jordan Berry is in Minnesota.  Your thoughts please?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Danny Smith is not responsible for Jordan Berry being let go each of the last two years. He wanted him to stay. And I think the two blocked punts that were significant plays probably negate what has otherwise been a season-full of average results

I watched Devin Bush and when he is touched by an offensive lineman there is no fight in him, he does not even try to get free he just stands there until the big guy lets him go. I understand that he may not be 100% because of his knee but he could try something. What do you think his lack of intensity means? Seems like he is happy to just have a uniform on and he doesn't want to be injured again. Not much help on the field. Happy holidays to you and your family!!!
Gerry Dulac
11:09
Merril Hoge would agree with you. He said last week that once a blocker get his hands on Bush he's done.

Gerry, Merry Christmas! If you could remove one Steeler starter and replace him with a player from another team… What two players (or positions) would you swap?
Gerry Dulac
11:10
That's talk-show fodder. I don't get into hypotheticals, let alone fantasy. But I'd take Quenton Nelson
Linebacker Lounge
11:11
I see similarities to the 2010 Colts.. Defense was a sieve most of regular season, HOF QB, Edge rusher fairly even at skill positions.. Thoughts? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Hadn't looked at it that way
Jay Daven
11:11
Gerry, do the Steelers pull out the trick plays for this game to give them a chance or do they run 3 times for 8 yards and punt?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
They're not a big trick-play team, as you have surely seen

Hey Always Enjoy The Chats If Colbert Steps Down Who Do You Think Is The Next Steelers GM
Gerry Dulac

Good question. Not sure I can answer that with any validity.

Why are the Steelers not using Zach Banner? Also, any update on the availability of Stephon Tuitt? Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
Gerry Dulac
11:13
I'm guessing the reason they aren't using Zach Banner is because the coaches don't think he is  better or more capable than what they have. Which should tell you something
