OK, kids, we're going to get started in approx 15-20 min so get those questions locked and loaded....
10:46
Ok kids, let's get started....Go!!

Hi Gerry, Best chance of winning against Browns: non existent running game and 3 yard RPO passes or let Ben run the offense, 4 and 5 wide and throw 50 times like last year when he won 12 games?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
What do you think..??
Tim Z
10:47
Good morning Gerry!  I strongly believe for Mike Tomlin to stick around as we know he will he has got to recruit much higher quality coordinators and coaches! Of course for that to happen the positions need to be vacant first. I believe 100% Matt Canada should be fired, 75% Keith Butler should go, And I think we should look for a better replacement for Danny Smith so I’ll put a 50% on that one. With these three coaches what percentage would you put on for the probability of getting rid of them at the end of the season?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
Agreed, but the organization has to be willing to pay for them instead of just promoting from  within, which is a lot cheaper

Gerry Dulac
10:49
The probability of all them being gone is very small, though I think Keith Butler might retire at the end of the season.

Is Mason Rudolph the Qb1 in 2022?  What do you think
Gerry Dulac
10:49
As of right now, yes.
John
10:49
Gerry … the lack of accountability in the organization is very hard to watch.  Art gives mandates and things get worse.  At some point the promoting from within and the drafts fall on someone.  The 2018 draft crippled this team   What say you
Gerry Dulac
10:49
What you say has a lot of merit
Dakota A
10:49
Although I think it’s the best move strategically compared to Matt Canada if for no other reason this is Ben’s last game at Heinz Field would you agree Gerry to let Ben call the offensive plays right from the kick off?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
Yes. Don't wait till the second half to take over.
REID
10:50
Gerry, what's more probable - Aaron Rodgers wants to play for the Steelers with current O line or current O line pass protects well enough for receivers to run deeper than 3 yard routes? Or, both are equally improbable?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
Highly improbable if not ridiculously improbable
REID
10:50
Gerry, In hindsight would Steelers have been better off taking Creed Humphrey or other high end O lineman early and getting a RB later in the draft?
Gerry Dulac
10:51
Well, I had no problem with Najee Harris and still don't. And even though Pat Freiermuth is a great choice, I still believe they need a center in the second round. Said it all along.

10:51
Happy new year Gerry  I know Tomlin won’t be fired but do you think AR will insist on getting some NFL caliber assistants in there? The coaching top to bottom is bad as I have ever seen it!
Gerry Dulac
10:52
It is not very good, that's for sure. But, as I said, the organization has to be willing to pay for quality coaches and the coach has to want quality coaches
REID
10:52
Gerry, what did Ray Ray do to earn the amount of snaps he's getting at WR???????
Gerry Dulac
10:53
They are mistaking him for Tyreek Hill
Rich
10:54
Gerry I am scratching my head over D Johnson feeling snubbed! To me he is  one mental lapse for every good play. What are your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:55
Tyreek Hill. Keenan Allen. Stefon Diggs. A.J. Brown. Those are the AFC Pro Bowl receivers. He think he's more deserving than them???

Steelers Biggest need …. Offensive Line, or Defensive Line ?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
Both. They are biggest weaknesses on the team and the reason they are dominated each game. They need to add a quality offensive lineman in free agency and draft one no later than the second round. They need to draft two defensive linemen among the first three picks. Their lack of attention to the defensive line the past 5 -7 years has been alarming.
Gerry
10:59
Hi Gerry - what are the Steelers options with S.Tuitt and how would they impact the 2022 cap?  Thank you
Gerry Dulac
11:02
He enters the final year of his contract in 2022 and will count $13.9 million against the cap. If the team releases him before June 1, they will save $9.7 million against the cap. The only way they keep him is offering him a substantial pay cut, in which case he might refuse and elect to become a free agent.

I saw a game this week where the defender jumped off sides…. but they let the play go through. the offensive lineman was later flagged for grabbing the facemask. This never would’ve happened if the refs blew the “quick whistle” on the offsides, like they always seem to do for Ben. Sometimes the refs blow the whistle right away and sometimes they don’t . Is there a standard for when the referees blow the whistle on an offside play.  If not, why not?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
It depends. If the player comes unabated to the quarterback because he jumped early, they stop the play so the QB doesn't get clobbered. If the guy just awkwardly falls forward across the line and isn't charging forward, they let the play run.

What team do you think the Steelers will play in the Superbowl?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
In 2028??
Gerry
11:04
In what scenario would you envision the team/players seeing Canada’s offense as the bridge to the future post Ben?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
I would call that the Bridge to Nowhere, if you're old enough to remember that.
Jud
11:05
With Ben allowed to write his own exit, do you think there's any scenario where he comes back next year?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I wouldn't say Ben was allowed to write his own exit after all the hand-wringing that went on after last season. The only scenario in which he would have been brought back is if the Steelers made it to the AFC Championship game or Super Bowl, and I don't think that's going to happen.
Jud
11:07
With Klemm being a "hostage" has "it's business" truly extended into the coaching staff as well?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
He wanted to finish the season with them and the Steelers told him he could finish the season. Something changed in a week.

There are so many positions on this team that need upgraded.  Where do you place ILB? Sadly, It has never been the same since Shazier's injury which leaves a gaping hole in the defense and the locker room.
Gerry Dulac
11:09
I don't think you will see that position addressed high, if that's what you mean. A lot depends if they bring Joe Schobert back. If they do, you won't see much attention given to the position at all.
