I'm not sure a game plan will be built around a receiver who has yet to come down with any of the deep shots they have taken. That's almost as preposterous as coming back to the same receiver three times after he had no chance of catching the first two

Gerry, if Steelers lose many will want MT fired, however many owners have said if you're playing meaningful football the last week it was a good season. Think Art thinks like this, or is he feeling too much pressure for change?

If the Steelers lose and miss the playoffs, I don't think anyone in that building will think it's been a good season. Even if they win and then lose in the wild-card round, nobody there will think it's been a good season

Hi Gerry. Thanks for the chats. Just me. But the Rooney’s look like chumps for not making noise after the DK 2 game suspension. Fine yes; 2 games ridiculous. Jerry Jones would not have taken this lying down. The Team is paying dearly for it.

Despite the DK overboard suspension, because the NFL security possibly didn’t handle it well on their end, it seems the NFL would much rather have AR playing in the playoffs, and this may not help. Am I wrong?

I think the entire national media would love to see Rodgers in the postseason. Who wouldn't? He's a future HOFer and one of the stars of the game, even at 42. But, yes, team and league security did not handle the situation well at all. I'm still not sure how that is allowed to happen, though I'm not diminishing Metcalf's stupid actions

Gerry: the Steelers have not won a division championship since 2020. They got better QB play this year than any other year since Ben retired. Lamar and Joe Burrow both missed numerous games. If they can’t win it under these circumstances, how long before they win the North?

While it’s understandable that a QB needs to feel comfortable with his receivers, Rodgers penchant, in the absence of DK, to target DVS 3 consecutive times, against a pro bowl CB, at the end of the game Sunday, is inexcusable. Friermuth and Gainwell were the most talented receivers on the field on those plays yet they were ignored in favor of an “old friend”. Does Rodgers have a history of ignoring TEs and RBs in his passing game? Is there reason to hope he looks for options other than MVS in critical situations this week?

I read your column that the Steelers blame the NFL for not telling them about the Detroit fan and Metcalf. How is the league supposed to track every player’s problem with a fan across multiple teams? Metcalf himself knew, so why didn’t he say something in advance?

They have gone something like 66 straight games failing to score more than 7 points in the first quarter. It spans different players,QBs and OCs. Is it the edict of Tomlin to be conservative on offense early in games?

Actually, the offense hasn't scored more than 7 points in the first quarter in over 90 games. That's not conservative as much as it's mind-boggling

Probably around 25 at kickoff and it favors neither team because both play in cold-weather cities.

Hello Mr.D, I know Federal Courts are more likely to get involved in arbitration issues, but since Metcalf's suspension was drastically higher than Shaq Lawsons 2023 very similar incident & the high stakes shouldn't Metcalf & the Steelers tried that route?
