Their plan is not to go on the edge again. Their plan will be to address the inside LBs

Tuitt (hyperextended elbow) and Hargrave (back) were injured. And the inside LBs just aren't that good without Shazier. By the way, did you happen to watch any of the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 ranked defenses in the postseason? Did you? They were disgraceful

Gerry, I never thought I would say this but I don't want them to sign Bell to a big contract. We have one of the best lines in football and I know we can replace his running ability. His pass catching is what makes him unique but this team does not need his pass catching. I wish we would just use that money to bolster the middle of the defense. We lose one big superstar but it makes a better TEAM. Am I wrong for thinking this way?

Does anyone know the true back story with what happened with Harrison and the coaching staff? Especially with Shazier going down,  JHay would have greatly helped the depleted linebacker corps. I think he clashed with  the ego maniac Porter who was trying to bring Dupree along. What say you?

That's the big one. A lot will depend on what happens w a Bell contract. A long-term deal would save them money under the cap.

I keep hearing that the Steelers should consider not signing Bell at his high price and point to the teams in the super bowl that made it without great backs.  I think that is poor way of looking at it.  Every team has its own strengths and weaknesses and those teams have different strengths than the Steelers.  Using that logic, three of the four teams in the super bowl had back-up QBs or Bortles (and winning team had a back-up), so should we just disregard having a good QB now because we can win without one???  Our D was not as good as the Eagles or Jaguars.  But we make up for it with offense, which is one of the Steelers' strengths at this time - and Bell is a big part of it.  Why weaken our strength when our other areas aren't ready to make up for that loss? Agree?
