Ok, kids, we're going to start our chat in a few minutes so get ready....
12:48
Ok let's get started..Go!!

The Steelers' defensive secondary seems brimming with experience and potential, but it also now seems crowded. Might we see a shocking cut? Who's the odd man (men?) out this year?
Gerry Dulac
12:48
No. Those "shocking" cuts already occurred.
Gerry
12:49
What positions could you foresee the team most likely bringing in outside help before the season?
Gerry Dulac
12:49
Maybe ILB. That's about it, unless there are injuries. Maybe a veteran WR. Maybe

What are your thoughts on Dupree and his prospects for a better season switching sides?  There were stretches last year where he went several games with few to no tackles and was invisible out there.  I am not concerned with how many sacks he gets, I am more concerned with his disappearing act for multiple games.
Gerry Dulac
12:51
I think he disappeared for more than a couple games. The Steelers had no choice but to pick up his fifth-year option.  He needs to be better against the run, in addition to more disruptive in the backfield

Gerry, will the Steelers be scrimmaging any other team during training camp this year?
Gerry Dulac
12:51
No

Hi Gerry, thanks for the chats. I read James Crabtree-Hannigan's article on Frazier and found it quite interesting. Sounds like he has the right mindset for the situation he'll be in if he makes the team and the fact Dunbar liked him says a lot too. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
12:51
I think that was a good late-round pick. He has a chance -- a good one -- to oust Dan McCullers for sure

Gerry - are we one injury away from serious trouble at both inside and outside linebacker?  Or do you think the team will add depth if the right situation presents itself....or deal with it on the fly if necessary?  Appears a bit tenuous from the outside view....thanks.
Gerry Dulac
12:52
Yes they are. What's more, the talent level at linebacker, compared to what the Steelers are accustomed, is average at best, all the way across the board. That being said, I like TJ Watt

Gerry, which of the following is most likely to happen?
A) Dobbs is released and signed by another team
B) Dobbs is released and signed to the practice squad
C) Dobbs is traded
D) Jones is traded
E) Jones is released
F) Dobbs comes down with a mystery injury in the fourth preseason game and goes on IR
I asked Ray and he added F.
Gerry Dulac
12:53
I pick G) Gerry is highly unlikely to answer a question with so many hypotheticals

12:53
after OTA's, where does Keion Adams stand on the depth chart at OLB?
Gerry Dulac
12:54
No different. And there is no depth chart in the spring. But he's behind Chickillo and the starters

I am not a huge Landry Jones fan (or detractor) but I am a huge Steelers fan for over 58 of my 68 years on earth and I believe if we cut/trade Jones and keep what is essentially two rookie QB's it's a huge blunder. They can throw beautiful, perfect passes but neither one knows the offense as well as Jones.
Gerry Dulac
12:55
I'm not going to argue. But the team might be willing to gamble by trading Jones after the preseason (after they see Mason Rudolph in games) and get a decent draft choice in return.
Leaper
12:55
Do you feel Rudolph has a legitimate chance at #2 and if not does Dobbs have a legitimate chance to get to the practice squad?
Gerry Dulac
12:57
I think he has a chance, yes, but I'm not going to proclaim him the backup just yet. It's not as though the Steelers are disappointed in Landry Jones, because they are not. I doubt Dobbs sticks around as the fourth quarterbasck if there are no trades. The Steelers don't typically carry a QB on the practice squad.
Leaper
12:57
Would you guess Samuels makes the initial 53?
Gerry Dulac
12:57
Yes

US Open question Gerry
Gerry Dulac
12:57
Yes...??
Leaper
12:57
Will JuJu, primarily, be used in the slot?
Gerry Dulac
12:57
Slot or flanker
Doug
12:57
Hey Gerry -
Do you see a more buttoned up and focused version of the Steelers this year or the same outspoken, undisciplined social media bunch of last year?
Gerry Dulac
12:58
Leopards don't change their spots
Rob Rogers
12:58
Reports of Big Red getting work with the first team during pre-training camp practices. Case of new guy [Bostic] still getting acclimated or is the starting ILB position up for grabs?
Gerry Dulac
12:58
Little of both. But I think it's a telling sign that Bostic wasn't immedioately inserted as the starter. Means he's nothing special
Rob Rogers
12:59
D Coordinator admits to moving Dupree to other side because he might be better if QB can't seem him. Not really a ringing endorsement of a player, right?
Gerry Dulac
12:59
Nope. Reaching for compliments, if you call that one
Rob Rogers
12:59
Any tips for attending training camp? Good places for lunch/dinner in that area? Any can't-miss roadside attractions?
Gerry Dulac
12:59
Sharkys. Dinos. Right up the highway
The Standard
12:59
Hi, Gerry, Any word on JuJu's knee?  Any other injuries that my prevent a player from participating in camp?
Gerry Dulac
1:00
None right now. But he should be fine

Hi Gerry - US Open question regarding Phil Mickelson's meltdown on the 13th hole in round three.  Ron Cook, who admits he does not play golf, wrote this week that "[m]ost golf fans’ appreciation and admiration for Mickelson grew because he did something at our national championship that they often have done or feel like doing on their community course."  That seems not to be the case with most golfers I know - do you agree with Mr. Cook?
Gerry Dulac
1:01
Not at all. You are 100 percent correct and he is 100 percent off base and wrong. Those who "admire" Mickelson for what he did are not golf fans. They are fans of BarStool Sports
