I know you are a very good golfer.  At the Open Phil took the 2 stroke penalty and played on.  All ok with that or problem?
Gerry Dulac

It was stupid, first off, because even if he let that ball off the green, he could have pitched back on and taken even two putts -- more than reasonable for a player with arguably the best short game on tour -- and still made 8. Better than 10 right? Plus it was disrespecting the sport he represents so well. He should have been DQed, and I understand why he wasn't. But he should have withdrawn after the round for blatantly disregarding the rules

Since LB is not technically under contract does he still have to submit to random drug testing?
Gerry Dulac
1:05
Yes he does

Do the Steelers value running backs in general, and Le'Veon Bell in particular, differently than the rest of the league? When's the last time the best running back in the league won a championship? Marshall Faulk with the Rams back in what, 2000? The league has changed, and running backs--even great ones like Bell--are a dime a dozen. Quarterback play, line play, defense, and turnvoer differential are all more imporant to winning in the playoffs than having a star running back. The Steelers should have let Bell walk and used that money to improve their defense.

A lot of people agree with you, some in the organization. Look, running backs like Zeke Elliott make a young QB like Dak Prescott better. Todd Gurley makes a young QB like Jared Goff better. Same with Leonard Fournette and Blake Bortles. But Le'Veon Bell does not make Ben Roethlisberger better. Ben and AB make Bell better, and he wasn't even "better" last season. I could find 10 RBs to put back there and the Steelers chances of going to the Super Bowl would be no different.

What is the status of Bell's contract? Is Bell waiting for a new offer from the club having rejected their last one? Do you think we will or should up our offer?
Gerry Dulac
1:08
He's not getting a new offer if he wants at least $14 million a year. He's not even getting that

Starting to really like this draft class after initially being disappointed. I know they haven't put on the pads yet, but where do you stand?
Gerry Dulac
1:08
Let's put the pads on and see

Hello. Can you name one or two undrafted rookies this year who have the best chance of being a contributor this year, based on the OTAs and minicamp ? Thank you very much.
Gerry Dulac
1:09
Right now, I really don't see any. Maybe the ILB from Florida State

Thanks for the chat Gerry. Besides the Holy Trinity of Ben, Bell, and AB, who is the one player that would hurt the team the most to lose from injury?
Gerry Dulac
1:10
Cam Heyward. It was Shazier. Now it's Cam

Hi Gerry, thanks for the chat.  In your opinion - are the lack of turnovers the past few years due to play calling or lack of playmaking?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
Lack of playmaking, though I will point up the Steelers are not a gambling type of defense

Do you think that the Steeler's using more of a hybrid S/LB this year will be scrapped by year's end, or will it become more of a trend for the rest of the league?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
We'll see. If will be a trend if you don't have any good ILBs
Ryno
1:11
How would you assess the performance of Joe Haden last season?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
I have no problems with Joe Haden. None

Gerry, tell me that I'm wrong, but it seems to me that all along Le'Veon Bell has been more interested in becoming the highest paid FA in 2019 than getting a long term deal done in 2018 with the Steelers. The reported numbers offered to him by the Steelers were more than fair. I hope knows he is going to regret not being with Pittsburgh after this year.

You are not wrong. Narcissist

Any chance I become a Steeler by camp?
Gerry Dulac
1:13
Never know

What draft picks do you see making an impact this year?
Gerry Dulac
1:14
James Washington for sure. Terrell Edmunds too.

The special teams seem to be always below average. Has the team made any changes to better this part of the game?
Gerry Dulac
1:14
They are not terrible. They are not terrific either. I would call them average, not below average

Any chance bell is with us in 2019?

1:15
What sort of return would you think trading Landry Jones would get us?
Gerry Dulac
1:15
Maybe a third. Maybe. Probably 4th or 5th
Miles McGuire

Do we see more tick/gadget plays Coach Randy ? That was always a weapon under cowher..
Gerry Dulac
1:15
We'll have to see.
Joe
1:15
Does any other Running Back in the league turn down the offer the Steelers made to Bell?
Gerry Dulac
1:16
Nope. But then Bell doesn't think he's just any other RB
Steelerman
1:16
Why no interest in Timmons?
Gerry Dulac
1:17
I was surprised there wasn't, which tells me there are some issues going on there they don't want to have.
Bill

It has been widely reported that Tomlin has been heavily involved in the defensive game plans and play calling. Doesn't this make it tough to move on from Butler if the same issues (blown assignments, miscommunication, and poor tackling) continue on D?
Gerry Dulac
1:17
That's why you hope they learn from their mistakes. I'm quite sure they know what those are
