I'm sure you'll never answer this but why do you block fans for calling you out for constantly tweeting golf stories about minor clubs/events now that the Steelers are in camp? Most people follow you for the Steelers

I know they do and a lot follow me because of golf. I block anyone on Twitter who tries to get personal or is a complete you-know-what, no matter if its about golf or the Steelers. You ever see me get personal with anyone on Twitter? No.

Not really. If it does, it's because someone is a standout special teams player who happens to play WR and I don't see that person in the group

How much does someone like golson (for example) make missing a whole season? Do they pay him a full salary or is there some clause in the contract that pays him less? What about salary cap? ty

I'm not sure of that exact answer but because the team keeps him via injured reserve they are paying some considerable amount relative to his contract

Great chat, as always Gerry. I haven't been hyper about going after a QB, as some others have been, but with Ben's recent statements, it seems the Steelers have to be serious about finding one. I know they always prefer the draft route, but they'll likely be pickng at the bottom. Do you think they might go after someone established, or stick to the draft?

No, they would seek that person through the draft, and I believe they will get more serious in the 2018 draft, certainly by 2019. Anyone who they might be able to get who is established probably isn't much better, if at all, than Landry Jones, they believe.

I don't know that they're high on Hilton. He has just stood out a little. But it's only a couple days. The waiver wire is filled with one-week wonders

No. I think he has one more year. But it won't shock me if it has.

Are we gonna see an equal amount of snaps for Jones and Dobbs, or are they going to just let Dobbs come in with the 12th string guys where we can't see how he does with some of the better players around him?

Its probably more of the latter. Dobbs will probably get more snaps than Jones merely to give him lots of playing time. But it will not be to see if he should be the No. 2 QB

I think Demarcus Ayers is the bomb - tough, fast, great attitude, and DHB can't catch. Please tell me the Steelers will keep Ayers over DHB!
