Considering the weather conditions, thought the Steelers went ultra conservative in setting up for a FG in OT (instead of trying to keep moving down the field). Did Tomlin address this?

He can't address every little thing. They did, but don't forget, they did throw on third down and gain 7 yards to get closer for Boswell.

It felt like the offense wasted a terrific effort by the defense.  Did any defensive players seem tonfeel that way?

No, I don't think the players are wired that way, especially for just one game. There will be times when the offense bails out the defense.

I thought the defense played well overall and I don't blame this loss on them - It would be nice to see offense and defense play well at the same time... Anyway, this was week one, a lot of overreaction don't you think.... Jets are not as good as they think they are, the Lions probably not as bad and the Steelers can still win 12 games... What do you think?

I agree with your observation that it's only week 1. Relax. The Steelers were awful last year in week 3 in Chicago and still went 13-3. Do you think Tampa Bay is going to put up 48 points every week and win? You think the Ravens are going to score 47 all the time? It's September. Ask me in December

Nobody expects 4 sacks every game, not even 2 every game. But I think it shows how Watt can help this defense

Your thoughts on the recent article I read on Bleacher Report that the Steelers front office needs a reality check.    I thought it to miss the point.   Yet I cannot deny the year after year of underperformance and playoff disappointment which I am beginning to think is a consequence of the unmistakeable lack of discipline on the team.

It's too early to be concerned about anything. If you're worried about the offense, you don't have much to worry about

Gerry, I’d appreciate your opinion of 2 players performances.  Jordan Berry....he has to be replaced ASAP doesn’t he?  He akways  puts us in a hole with his inability to kick well consistently. Then, Dupree....I didn’t see him playing well. He was going against a less talented player and should have dominated. Instead, he continues to take the widest angle imagineable to the QB. He’s the same player regardless of the side of the field. He’s a back up but hardly a starter you depend on. Thanks.

Well, he fumbled far too often in Cleveland, that's for sure. But I don't think you should be worried it's an epidemic. As for him going down, he is not wired that way -- one of the reasons he is who he is

Great statement on Boswell! Not every miss, interception or fumble is 100% "the player's or coaches fault". Agree?
