OMG forget these guys. Linden is like a 2 hour drive which for California isn't that far. It's not like San Diego which is 9 hours. So yeah, Linden isn't Oakland or Walnut Creek but it isn't THAT far.

I think the Giants would really want to focus on the older elite SP like Verlander and DeGrom - high AAV over a shorter period of time. I doubt either go to SF, but it would fit their FA style

Bellinger is really tough to peg right now.

One of my colleagues suggested that it's possible his shoulder is never going to be 100% and his days of being a good hitter are gone.

So, if that's true, his value is pretty low.

But if he gets back to pre-2020 levels and you're only paying him 8MM or something, he has huge value.

I would argue that strong defense in CF plus 19 HR power has some value even if the on base skills are poor (speaking of Bellinger) Giants need a CF desperately and if they can’t get Nimmo they should get Bellinger

Yeah, it's not nothing. I wrote a post about Belli today and pointed out that he was still worth 1.7 fWAR this year, even with his poor hitting.

But in 2019, I think he was seven point something. Huge difference.

I actually think the Arizona core is decent. I wouldn't be surprised if they're better than people expect in the next few years.
