College basketball isn't always the best path to the NBA anymore. Three of the top six picks this year were from overseas, and another came from G League Ignite. It's easier than ever to scout talent from around the world, so if players are good enough, they'll be discovered.

Do the Mavericks make a draft night trade tonight?  I know that they're trying to get rid of THJ to re sign DJJ.
ARTHUR HILL

They'll keep trying, but it might not happen on draft night. Teams are likely going to want future draft assets to take on Hardaway's salary, rather than trading into the latter part of this year's draft.

Who's going to trade into the late first round?
ARTHUR HILL

There were a lot of reports that the Nets wanted a first-round pick. This could be a chance to get one cheap. However, four picks in the 20s have already been moved, so if they didn't trade into the draft already, it might not happen.

I’d bet the Spurs picked up two distant firsts to go star hunting with picks in two or three years, when they’re a piece or two away from contending with Wemby.

I'm sure their plan is to eventually trade the picks, but why not hold out for draft choices that will at least convey this decade? As one of our readers pointed out, the Wolves are going to be good as long as Anthony Edwards is still there, so the picks will have limited resale value.

How bad was his Foot injury at the end of Duke’s season?
ARTHUR HILL

I don't think the injury is why he's still on the board. I expected someone to take him by now, though.

With the outcome of the 1st round, any prediction on trades that might be happening post draft that may make waves in the league?

I expect the Pistons to be active. It looks like Trajan Langdon has a vision for the team that might not involve much of the current roster. The Spurs have to find some shooters, so they might be involved in a Trae Young deal. I expect the Lakers to make changes, too, even though they got a nice draft find in Dalton Knecht.

How can the Bulls keep gaslighting their fans like this and get away with it? Talked about shooting being the biggest need and have only gotten worse in that department, Vuc and Lavine and Demar just got to go

Maybe they should have traded Alex Caruso for shooting help rather than Josh Giddey? They'll explore the trade market and free agency for shooters, but Giddey and White still seem redundant. A teardown where they get rid of their veterans is probably the best course of action, but Arturas Karnisovas probably won't keep his job if that happens.

Pick No. 30 is in, and Bronny is still on the board. There should be a lot of high drama tomorrow. Good night, and thanks for all the great questions.
