Luke Adams
12:33
It depends what they can get for him in a trade. If they get a really strong offer (say, a first-round pick and a promising young prospect), I think they should strongly consider it. But if the market is underwhelming, I don't mind hanging onto him -- Bamba probably isn't ready yet, and maybe you can re-sign Vucevic in the summer (which wouldn't necessarily preclude a trade as early as next year, like the Clippers did after re-signing Griffin).

Can the Cavs found a suitor for Levin Love? What kind of return can you see?
Luke Adams
12:35
I don't think now is the time to trade him. He's a borderline negative asset for now. His market would improve in the offseason if he comes back for the last month or two of 2018/19 and looks like his old self, then a few teams with cap room strike out on top targets in July.

What small deals do you expect?
Luke Adams
12:36
The in-the-tax teams will be worth watching. I could see teams like the Thunder, Heat, and Raptors making small deals to reduce those bills.
Chris Wallace
12:36
Did I miss my window to get a lottery-type first-rounder for Marc Gasol?
Luke Adams
12:38
Probably. Gasol looked like a potential Defensive Player of the Year for the first couple months of the season. He's really slowed down since then. A first-round pick isn't unrealistic, but it's more likely to be in the 15-20 range at best.
Mavs Fan
12:38
Who the heck does Dennis Smith Jr. think he is?  He is acting like Kyrie Irving but he is nowhere near that level as a player!
Luke Adams
12:40
Considering how much the Mavs talked him up during his rookie season, I can understand his frustration to some extent. It'd be like your parents handing you the keys to their sports car, only to decide to take them away a year later because they decide your little brother's actually the much better driver.

what does a team like Indiana do now that they have lost Oladipo?  Are they buyers, sellers or do they enter tanking mode to get a good draft pick to get a top prospect and get ready for next year?
Luke Adams
12:41
They're too good a team to enter tank mode. They could go winless for the rest of the year and still not come close to falling into the Cavs/Bulls/Knicks/Suns group. Tanking also just really isn't in the franchise's DNA. Still, if I'm the Pacers, I recognize that I'm probably not going to compete for a title without a healthy Oladipo, and if there are moves out there that could potentially improve my outlook for 2019/20, I'd consider them.

What's your take on the whole Derrick Rose back to Chicago in FA rumors? I'm worried about the potential chemistry (or lackthereof) between he and Lavine
Luke Adams
12:43
If they're looking to sell some tickets and increase fan interest, sure. But yeah, I agree that it doesn't necessarily seem like an ideal basketball fit, even with Rose's newfound three-point shot.
Warrior Dunk Contest
12:43
Is there any chance Zaza returns to the Warriors this year if he is released?  It seems like they could use another big.  They did something similar with Anderson Varejao.
Luke Adams
12:44
I don't think he'd be their first choice (that'd be Robin Lopez), but he'd probably be on their list. A buyout signing is definitely more likely for the Warriors than a trade, so I think they'll add somebody down the stretch.

12:44
Where is the best fit for Beal in a deal that favors both the wiz and whichever team that would make the move
Luke Adams
12:47
It doesn't sound like the Wizards are going to consider a Beal trade, but if they did, I bet they'd look for a return similar to the one the Heat offered for Jimmy Butler in the fall (Josh Richardson, a first-round pick, and a vet like Waiters or Olynyk). Basically, they'd want a younger, Beal-type prospect, plus at least one other good asset.
Jimmer Fredette
12:47
Does Fredette get one more chance in the NBA?  He might be a nice Bench scorer for a team, after his season ends in China.   Instant Offense 6th man would be a good role for him, if you can live with his phantom defense.
Luke Adams
12:47
I'm surprised he hasn't gotten another chance already. Feels like it's just a matter of time, as he'd be a nice fit in the modern NBA.
Corey Brewer
12:48
I need to be signed by Philly for the rest of the season after how I have played right?
Luke Adams
12:48
You're definitely the frontrunner for that final roster spot, but I bet the Sixers will wait until at least after the trade deadline to make a decision, to see if there's anything else they can do with that 15th spot. If they fill it and still want you back, maybe someone like Justin Patton gets waived to make room.
Levin Love
12:49
Who do you think would win in a mini 3 on 3 tournament, the Plumlees, the Zellers, the Holidays or the Antetokounmpos?
Luke Adams
12:50
I'd have to take Giannis and just about any two other players over those other three sibling groups.
Andy Melius
12:50
If the Jazz need a playmaking guard, how about a Favors for Teague deal with the wolves? Conley may be too difficult due to the contract.
Luke Adams
12:50
Teague's $19MM player option for next season would be an issue. Don't think that's how the Jazz would want to use a huge chunk of their projected cap room.
Brett
12:51
Do you think Gasol to the Raps for JV and other pieces make sense for either side? Or more likely that the Raps are happy with JV instead?
Luke Adams
12:52
It would have made a lot of sense in past years. I'm not sure it does anymore. JV has made huge strides on both ends of the court and has really bought into his reduced role, whereas Gasol is on the decline. I imagine the Raptors will probably still poke around, but I doubt they'd make a strong enough offer to beat out 28 other teams.

12:52
Who is a player not being talked about who could end up being  moved at the deadline and may seem like somewhat of a surprise
Luke Adams
12:53
No names are popping into my mind right away, so I'll open up this question to the floor. Any players you guys think will be unexpectedly moved in the next couple weeks, like Blake was last year?
M.J.
12:53
What are the Lakers doing? They added veteran pieces who don’t necessarily fit, and let a pair of youngsters (Randle and Bryant) walk. It made more sense to sign Paul George and Cousins, re-sign Randle, and possibly re-sign Brook Lopez to a one year deal.
Luke Adams
12:55
Some of those decisions were out of their hands (I'm sure they would've loved Paul George, but he didn't even give them a meeting, so there's not much they could've done there). You're right about some of the others though. Brook Lopez is exactly the type of player the Lakers could really use now. It's weird that they let him get away for such a modest contract (one year, $3.4MM). That's Michael Beasley money!

Kyle O’Quinn for some Wing help?
Luke Adams
12:55
Would make sense for the Pacers. Not sure if they could find a team willing to do it though -- O'Quinn is somewhat one dimensional and probably wouldn't have much of a role for a playoff team.
Yameron
12:56
Aaron Gordon maybe for the move at deadline question? He's been talked about a little as well though..Really shallow market this year lol. Not many sleepers I can think of
Luke Adams
12:56
Gordon crossed my mind for that question. I do think his new contract is very trade-friendly (it declines in value over the next three seasons). Not sure the Magic front office is ready to move on yet though.
Spencer Dinwiddie
12:56
chances are dlo stays in offseason bc hes restricted fa right
Luke Adams
12:57
The Nets can match any offer. If a team like the Suns or Magic swoops in with something massive, Sean Marks could face a pretty tough decision (which he probably deserves, after years of doing the same thing to other teams).

Is Butler a sixer next season?
Luke Adams
12:58
They're definitely the favorites. I'm not 100% sure I'd take them over the field though. We'll see how this season ends -- a run to the ECF or Finals would probably seal the deal. A first-round exit or an embarrassing second-round series would raise red flags.

i think ariza could very well be dealt again. where to?
