ATX Laker
7:33
Finally, a Lakers mention.
Buzz City
7:33
Any chance Charlotte goes Porter?
Austin Kent
7:34
I've heard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander linked to the Hornets. Although there seems to be a bit of an overlap with him Kemba and Malik MOnk.
I don't think they would have planned for MPJ to be available here, so maybe they've been thrown for a loop.
Ted
7:35
Wow, I think Mikal Bridges is an excellent fit in Philly.
Austin Kent
7:36
This sorta goes along with what we were discussing earlier. I think he could be the type of player that rounds out a contender. Philly doesn't need to to buy a lottery ticket on MPJ unless they had a deal in hand to flip him for a veteran.
Frank
7:37
MP went from last years projected #1 to sliding out the top 10, wow! Just wow!
Matt
7:37
Next pick Trade is?
Austin Kent
7:38
It seems that the Clippers are interested in doing something with their back to backs.
Chris
7:38
Any chance the raps make a trade for gilgeous-alexander?
Austin Kent
7:38
The Hornets just officially drafted Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
7:39
There was supposedly interest from Toronto. He could possibly be in play. Like I say, I find it hard to believe that SGA, Monk and Kemba could all thrive there.
7:40
(There's another Woj trade, if you guys want to dig for it. We're only discussing the ESPN broadcast and trying to keep this chat mostly spoiler-free)
L’ol Perfesser
7:40
Could the Suns realistically land MPJ at 16?
Austin Kent
7:41
I would be shocked if the Clippers, Wizards and Nuggets all pass. Those are three mid-level teams that would salivate at adding a potential star.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on the move. He's going to the Clips. The Clippers are basically paying two second-round picks to move from 12 to 11.
7:42
So the Clips will be on the clock at No. 12, but the pick will be going to Charlotte... so maybe they end up taking Michael Porter Jr. after all? I can't imagine they would have been planning for him to be available at 12 prior to today.
Chris
7:43
What on earth is Masai doing? The Raptors need youth but aren't doing anything
Austin Kent
7:43
I've been hearing that the price tag on top picks has been really high. I don't think the Raps really have enough tradeable assets. Their good players don't have proportionate trade value.
7:44
The Clippers take Miles Bridges at No. 12 (but this is going to the Hornets for SGA).
Mitch Richmond
7:44
Think Chauncey is watching these highlights thinking he can make a comeback?
Austin Kent
7:46
So the Clippers are on the clock now. They have SGA already on the way, who do they take at No. 13?
7:49
Apparently the Nuggets are thinking long about MPJ at No. 14 (if he doesn't go No. 13). He sorta slides right into Denver's forward logjam but the idea of a MPJ/Nikola Jokic tandem is pretty exciting.
7:50
So here's a question for the field, what late first-round pick do you think could go on to have the biggest impact out of the gates? Anybody on the board that you think will hit the ground running?
7:51
The Clippers just took Jerome Robinson at No. 13. The guard has been skyrocketing up draft boards.
Twolves fan
7:53
Do you think there will be a big trade for either the lakers cavs or thunder tonight
Austin Kent
7:54
I don't think we see anything from the Lakers until free agency shakes out. I don't think we see anything from the Cavs now that they've seemingly picked one of the few players who could slide in and help LeBron out of the gates. The Thunder always seem to be laying in wait though.
Porter still available at No. 14 is crazy.
Frank
7:54
This is Crazy, Greg oden or Embiid didn’t slip like this, this is Crazy.....🤯
The Bed
7:54
Are back problems more risky than say the foot?
Austin Kent
7:55
You gotta wonder. The fact that it was a chronic thing that developed over time (iirc) and not something acute is concerning.
Vijay
7:56
I see Jalen Brunson as an immediate impact guy dependent on where he lands
L’ol Perfesser
7:58
The Blazers took Giles last year at 20 with 2 ACL’s I think. MPJ has to go by then if only for the upside and cost savings re the cap if he never plays. This is crazy.
Austin Kent
7:59
The Nuggets are taking Michael Porter Jr. at 14.
8:01
Chauncey Billups just compared MPJ to a young Kevin Durant. Obviously a lot of caveats there. What do you guys think his ceiling could be?
TJ
8:01
I like Khyri Thomas for impact. Not saying he'll win ROY or anything but I think he'll be a shut down defender.
Austin Kent
8:02
Can we talk about the Nuggets going back to the Dikembe Mutombo era brown?
8:03
Also, David Aldridge is tweeting that the Wizards weren't planning on taking MPJ, even if he slipped to No. 15.
8:05
