How often do you think ego gets in the way of proper decision making?  When a GM signs a player who then underperforms and is ridiculed by the media and/or fan base, does that player get a longer leash so the GM could say I told you so?

I think that's a part of it in all sports, not just hockey or not Rutherford. They're human. They have egos. Nothing wrong with that.

He's on the trip, and he's been skating at the tail end of practice. Curious if he joins the team in a non-contact capacity today. It could happen.
