Do you ever see yourself making a change and moving away from writing?  If so, what type of job would you like to be doing?
Jason Mackey
1:34
No, I don't plan to get away from writing. I love it too much.
Clementine
1:34
With the Pens all but assured a playoff spot, would you consider sitting any players to let them rest for a couple games?  If so, who?
Jason Mackey
1:35
It would depend on whether there's anything to play for. If there's absolutely nothing, sure. I'd sit whomever wants to see. Maybe Sid, Cullen, Malkin (if he's back) ... again, anybody who wants a game. But I think home ice is important, and I think they should try to finish as high as possible.

did anything ever happen to the Ranger who hit McCann in the head? Did the league office ever comment on it? That was super dirty, should be suspended. What about Bertuzzo's hit on Malkin? Anything come of that one?
Jason Mackey
1:35
Nothing came of either one. Neither was penalized. No supplemental discipline.

"They'll never win a cup without Letang." I've heard (in fact, I myself said) those words before and was proven wrong. What about this year?
Jason Mackey
1:35
I think they can win a Cup without Letang. They have. I don't understand saying a team can't win a Cup without any player. How do you know? You don't.
Ryan
1:35
Jason, after our recent play, depth scoring, Murray, etc. do you feel like we are going to be a more effective postseason team than last year where those were major issues for us?
Jason Mackey
1:36
We? Are you still asking about the Penguins? ... Just kidding, Ryan. ... I think the Penguins are better positioned this year versus last. I think if they can get the fourth line figured out, they're deeper. And there's a much more upbeat sense in the room. Credit to McCann, Bjugstad and Gudbranson for that.

If pens ever get a clean bill of health how do you see the lineup shaking out?
Jason Mackey
1:38
When everyone's healthy ... two points. Should probably do this once then copy/paste it: Guentzel-Crosby-Rust ... McCann-Malkin-Hornqvist ... Simon-Bjugstad-Kessel ... Blueger-Cullen-ZAR ... Dumoulin-Letang ... Johnson-Schultz ... Pettersson-Gudbranson ... Maatta very close in case somebody gets hurt or struggles.

Are the Penguins planning to have Bjorkqvist turn pro after Providence is eliminated from the Frozen Four?
Jason Mackey
1:39
I'm not sure. Scott Young didn't give much in the way of a direct answer. Could be a wait-and-see kinda thing.

Why did the Buffalo Sabres sing the Canadian national anthem when we played there recently?
Jason Mackey
1:39
They always do, because it's so close to the border.

Does Murry get a rest before the playoffs?  Or is the workload manageable and MS rides the hot hand?
Jason Mackey
1:40
I think only if they have things locked up. If they can improve, I think HCMS will try to do that and keep playing Murray.

Who's the odd man out when if all the D gets healthy?
Jason Mackey
1:40
I would make Maatta reclaim his spot. Although it's easy tomorrow night because I don't think Letang will be ready, and I would go Olli > Trotman.

What do u think of the current playoff format?
Jason Mackey
1:40
I hate it. I wish they did 1-8.

I think that GM JR should have traded P Kessel after the great year he had last year. He won't get many offers for PK after this disasterous season. Your thoughts?
Jason Mackey
1:41
He listened. You can't crush him for not trading Phil without knowing the offers. It was my understanding that GMJR never got anything that terribly good, hence why he held on to Phil. I think he can and will lower the bar a little bit this summer.

hiya pal. With only 1 Norris nomination in his career, is Letang a HOF'er?
Jason Mackey
1:44
He does have three Cups and has been a hugely successful defenseman ... when healthy. I think it's unfair to say yes or no at this point. Lotta hockey left to play.

In many ways, the Pens have been a better road team this year. In addition, they won the last two times that they faced the President’s Trophy winner in the playoffs. Do you think it matters much where Pittsburgh ends up in the standings as long as they qualify for the postseason?
Jason Mackey
1:44
Yep. Just get in the dance. That's all that matters. Matchups are somewhat important, but I think they need to be playing well and keep that momentum going. That's a huge key.

Does an aging Malkin need to reinvent his game, into something more defensive-minded, like what Crosby, Ovechkin, and Yzerman have done? His -20 is killing the Pens, and makes him no more valuable than a replacement-level player, while making $8m/yr.
Jason Mackey
1:45
I think you're a little too hung up on the plus/minus, Mike. It sucks as a stat. If Malkin is playing the way he was before he got hurt, he's fine. They're fine. I also don't think it's as possible to change his game. You would be asking a power hitter to bunt. That's not going to end well.

Feel free to ignore if you have gotten this question already: Assuming that they continue to dominate puck possession as they have, does Sullivan leave the current 3rd line as is when Geno and/or ZAR return?
Jason Mackey
1:46
He very well might. Sullivan likes that line a lot. But puck possession or not, those guys need to score.

What's the longest you've gone without changing underwear?
Jason Mackey
1:46
I change my underwear every day, thank you.

Pens are going all the way and there's nothing you can do to stop them! Yeah baby! Choo-Choo!
Jason Mackey
1:46
Okey doke.

Is there any tension between those who went directly into radio (Poni, perhaps) as a career and those such as yourself and Starkey, who went from print to broadcasting?
Jason Mackey
1:47
I left print and went to broadcasting? Whoa. No, no tension at all. We're all friends. They're just different mediums. I don't view any as being above or below the others. I guess you do?

Has Ovechkin missed much time with injuries over the course of his career?
Jason Mackey
1:49
No, he has not. Believe Ovechkin has played in over 90 percent of his games.
