Exclude. Sheahan would be your 4C -- and actually a really good one -- and Rowney would move to wing, probably sending Kuhnhackl, Reaves or Hagelin to the bench. Hagelin could also be involved in the trade. I guess Kuhnhackl, too, for that matter.

Yes, Josh is, but other than that, I can't give you a definitive answers. Religion, much like politics, is rarely discussed in hockey dressing rooms. Just not part of the sport's culture.

Hi Jason,  the Pens would be crazy to trade Cole.  Not only is he the most physical defenseman they have, but it would hurt their defensive depth and remove yet another key vocal leader from the locker room.  If this is a personality issue with Sullivan, that sends a bad message that if you don't get along with the coach then you are gone.  Not good for moral.

His play away from the puck and how infrequently he hits the net with his shot. Those are the two I've heard most commonly. Oh, and five-on-five production. He's been real good on the PP, but hasn't produced as much 5v5.

It was really sad to see Kunitz in a Tampa uniform the other night.  I think they made a big mistake in not signing him for his leadership alone and I wonder if the Pens now realize he was more valuable than they thought and regret not keeping him.  I think the team is missing all of the lost leadership.

I wonder that sometimes, too. $2 million plus incentives? Seems like a bargain to me. Depth scoring would be improved, you'd think. That's probably the one thing they did/didn't do this summer that I just can't wrap my head around. If Kunitz got like 3 years, $9 million, I'd get letting him walk. Not for $2 million for one; he's worth that.

why do penguin "fans" turn on their goalies after they win cups, first fleury then murray and they wanted to replace him with fleury now they want to replace murray with jarry, im sure jarry will win the cup this year and we can all hear about how we should trade him.

Jason if Ian Cole is indeed traded are the coaches that confident in the next guy up ? Injuries are part of the game and are they comfortable with Corrado Trotman etc?? Is Tinordi a possibility?

If they trade Cole, which I think they'll do, I think they would look to acquire a 6/7 D man who can hit a little bit as some sort of insurance. Not sure any of those three are going to get extended NHL minutes any time soon.

Sports writers seem convinced that the Pens are shopping Cole. Sullivan treats the story as fake news. Seems like a lot of downside for Sullivan if he indeed knows that Cole is trade bait yet denies it so strongly to the press. What is really going on?

I reported what's going on. Then Elliotte Friedman and Bob McKenzie -- two of the heaviest hitters in our business -- confirmed it. As I said earlier, I know where I got what and stand by everything. Sullivan can downplay it all he wants. In his defense, what else is he supposed to say?

Could the Pen's and JR really be dumb enough to move Cole??  Finding another Left handed defenseman who moves the puck, blocks a ton of shots and plays physical is slim and none.  They can't afford to lose Cole.  "PERIOD"

They were going to after this season. I like Cole a lot, but how well Ruhwedel has played has been a pleasant surprise.
