I agree with you, Dave. Glad you enjoyed the game. And they've done a better job playing that way of late, too.

You wrote that Garrett Wilson could counter Tom Wilson. Garrett can fight, but is more of a grinding 4th liner - not tough fighter. Did you miss Tom knocking out a 6’7” guy? The only counter is to play and beat his team, not try and fight him.

Thanks for your opinion, Officer. ... I did not miss it. Tom Wilson is a tough dude, that was impressive. And I never said they were going to retain Garrett Wilson for purely fighting. More physicality. I also wrote what I wrote because it was based on something ... not just me slapping my opinion on a page. ... Lastly, I think Garrett Wilson is a better fighter than you're giving him credit for. He could hold his own, trust me.

Paul Coffey as an all time great?

Ahhh ... I knew I would forget someone. Good call. There are probably more I forgot.

Trading Brassard won’t net you back a current roster player (he’s a UFA, value is lower). Wouldn’t it be wiser to keep him - he can make some sort of impact, whether at center or at wing? Trading for future pieces when our future is the bottom of the league when 87/71 retire seems like horrible asset management.

I disagree. If he's not a fit, you're wasting a spot. And the Penguins might be wasting a spot. That's what they're trying to figure out.

Well, Dzingel is a UFA. Can't imagine Melnyk shelling out at the end of the season for him, given Stone/Duchene need new contracts

Good point. Although I think non-cheap owners would pay the man.

You what team could really use Brassard? The Pittsburgh Penguins if they trade him just because the media doesn't like that he won't talk to them.

Brassard talks all the time. He's tremendously approachable and very helpful. I like him a lot. I think he's a very good player. I just wonder if he's the right one for this team. So does his general manager.
OK, folks. That does it. Thanks so much for participating. Let's do this again next week!
