I don't think so. Just not a lot of trade-able value there right now. So-so season, injury, not great defensively. Probably has greater value to the Penguins than other places.

Thoughts on Zach Aston Reese so far? Small sample definitely but future bottom 6 guy?
Jason Mackey
2:47
I've seen nothing discouraging. Do I think he's ready for prime-time right now? No. But he's a young guy, has shown some potential, a little physical at times, needs to be more assertive. A good player. Has more to work on.

Is the fatigue issue a real thing when you think about a third Cup... with the last two seasons being obviously a really long run? We hear a lot about that. What do the players think?
Jason Mackey
2:47
They think it's a load of BS. They're fine.

Is it me, or is it that the Penguins are slowly building a plethora of talent in Wilkes Barre Scranton and a legit depth pool on the main roster? They seem to plug and play players at all positions at this time of the season. Will this depth and team coming together propel them to another cup?
Jason Mackey

Somewhat. They don't have a ton on the back end, and that's sort of an issue. But they do have a decent amount of young forwards, probably more depth than most people give them credit for.

Could the Wild trade Cullen to another team? Are they looking to trade him at all?
Jason Mackey

I think they would consider moving him. As I understand it, Pittsburgh is the only place he'd want to go.

What’s the best part of being a sports writer for a specific team?
Jason Mackey
2:50
Well, I don't write for the specific team. I write for the Post-Gazette. Big, big difference there. I like the freedom it provides. I love learning things about people, reporting it out, then telling the story to yinz. I love the interaction with readers, going to cool places, the day-to-day grind of seeing the Penguins every day and finding new stuff to write about. Competing with other outlets. The fact that people care what I have to write or say about the team. A lot of stuff. I could go on and on.

What’s your favorite away city that Pens play in? Where do you look forward to going?
Jason Mackey
2:51
Top five road cities would be, probably: Vancouver, Montreal, NYC, Washington, San Jose (for proximity to San Francisco).

Just getting here, sorry. Any Pens interest in Kruger, who is on waivers?
Jason Mackey
2:51
No, not that I've heard. He makes a lot of money.

Heard you on 93.7 the Fan with Starkey and Mueller the last few weeks.  You have a great rapport with them and the other on-air analysts.  You think you can take Filliponi in a fight?  Who's the biggest dude you fear there?  Starkey, Mueller, Filliponi, Dunlap?  None of the above?
Jason Mackey
2:52
Dunlap. He does CrossFit. Not Mueller or Poni. Definitely not Starkey. Thank you for listening!

Just call a newie on the whole thing, huh?

Man, Grabner would be a nice addition. Where would you slot him though?
Jason Mackey
2:53
Not sure. That's a tough one. Easier if he can play the left side. I don't know if he can or can't. Not a perfect fit.
2:54
OK, folks. That does it. Thanks, as always, for participating. I think we had a record number of questions this week. Honored that you chose to spend the time. Let's do this again in seven days.
