Do you think Cole's openness with the media really played a role in his exit? If so, that seems awfully short-sighted on Sullivan's part.

No. I think Cole was an option for Rutherford. It's how he could make the Brassard deal work. And the payoff was greater than losing Cole. Cole's openness with the media chaffed Sullivan, but not enough for the Penguins to trade Cole.

Measured by his past brilliance, how would you rate Crosby's overall game this season and how would you rate his play over the last month or so?

I think he needs some consistent linemates, one. But I think he's been right there. The playmaking, the wall play, the holding onto the puck, all there. No concerns with Sid. Maybe a little more goal-scoring, but he's not a 40-goal scorer anymore, I don't think.
