Jason...I think no one will say it...but fatigue after two long years and back-to-back 7 game series is a BIG problem. I think 2 days off between games is a HUGE help.
Jason Mackey
1:31
They went up 2-0 in this series and people were talking sweep. So you mean to tell me that fatigue crept in like an avalanche before Game 3 and completely crippled them? I find that a little hard to believe.
HB

i believe if sid wins the cup this year its a more impress feat than lebron making 7 straight finals thoughts?
Jason Mackey
1:32
I'm not into comparing sports. Apples and oranges. I think both are pretty darn impressive. If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with Lebron just because I think basketball is so much more individual than hockey.

Best Superhero movie ever?

Hello Jason, as the series shifts back to Pittsburgh, what's need to really happen in order for the Pens to win and bounce back tonight? As Murray gets the call to start, how will the team need to respond from the adversity over the past two games?
Jason Mackey
1:33
Been saying three things: better breakouts, have the PP be a difference and Murray to respond with better execution in terms of making key saves (I.e. the breakaway goal he allowed last game).

Lately I've been reading a lot of comparisons of the Penguins to milk bags. Do the players need more strength and conditioning training.
Jason Mackey
1:33
What in the world is a milk bag? ... Never mind. Don't answer that.
Mark
1:33
I agree with you on the fatigue factor. Hockey is what they do and what they love to do. It's not like they're thinking, "ah man we have another game tonight, I'm tired". Thanks for the chat.
Jason Mackey
1:33
Anytime, man. Thanks for participating.

Any chance the atmosphere in the crowd tonight will come close to matching Nashville Game 3 and 4.?
Jason Mackey
1:34
No. And that's not an indictment of Pittsburgh. It's a special thing happened down there. They've somehow managed to combine NASCAR, college football and European soccer into a party city. It's impressive. Believe everything you hear about the passion those fans have. It might be underselling it, honestly.

I read some reporters where saying preds were pumping in noise from p. A
Jason Mackey
1:35
I did not see those, but I was there and I also don't believe it for a second. We're in the stands there. I could hear it all around us, from actual humans.
HB
1:35
is reuniting the sid and the kids line a move that needed to happened or is it a desperation move?
Jason Mackey
1:36
I think it's worth revisiting. I don't know if it's either, honestly. Sheary isn't much of a bottom-six type. This is a way to take advantage of him playing a little better.
HB
1:36
crazy question but and this is not about his playoffs but to me could we get a top pairing guy in return for kessel?
Jason Mackey
1:37
Interesting question. I would think so. Do you think the Penguins need one with Letang, Schultz and probably Maatta and Dumoulin? I don't believe they do.
Big Daddy
1:37
I see some others were knocking Hainsey - what about Maata? He's a boy among men. He leads the league in "OMG did he just do that" moments. We should all be saying rosaries when he's on the ice. Ruh would less of a liability. Why does the coaching staff have so much faith in him?
Jason Mackey
1:37
In Olli? He was their best defenseman earlier these playoffs. Ruhwedel hasn't played in ... a long time. It's tough to just drop him in for Game 5 and say, 'Here, go."
Birdie
1:38
Why is it you an Sullivan always defend Murray when more than half fans see it the opposite. We are not all blind
Jason Mackey
1:39
Sullivan defends Murray because he won a Cup for him and had a really good year this year, where Fleury really didn't. Sullivan also knows way more than you or I about what's best for his hockey club. Even if some people don't seem to want to admit that.
HB
1:39
at the game do you have tvs where the writers sit so you can watch the US vs Trindad for world cup qualifiers? starts at 8. Go USA!!!!!!!!
Jason Mackey
1:39
I don't think that will be on anywhere.
TK
1:39
Who is the Pens best D-man right now?
Jason Mackey
1:39
Yikes. That's a tough one. Sergei Gonchar maybe? I honestly can't say one of them that is playing all that great right now, at least based off of Games 3-4.
dave
1:39
How about replacing Kessel on the PP with Guentzel? Kessel refuses to one-time the puck which is important in that situation. It also might help the 2nd PP unit which I don't think has scored in a long time.
Jason Mackey
1:40
You could, but I see Kessel and his shot as an asset there; Guentzel can shoot but not like Phil.
dave
1:40
If Bonino can play, who would you scratch? Maybe Sheary?
Jason Mackey
1:41
I might think about taking Rowney out. I thought he's been rather quiet this series. It calls for more skating. I'd keep Sheary. I think he's been much better.
HB
1:41
the Defense probably wont play better since ron cook said they will play better tonight. #RunningJoke
Jason Mackey
1:41
You guys love picking on poor Ron.
Chris
1:41
Alot of questions for expansion draft will need to be made in a hurry after Finals are over for Pens, any big surprises?
Jason Mackey
1:42
I don't think so. I think Fleury will get traded. I think Hagelin will get exposed, but I don't know if that will come as a surprise. Wouldn't be shocked if they trade Fleury to Vegas with the understanding that Vegas takes Hagelin. Could free up a lot of $$$.

So what sport(s) are you a fan of? If any.
Jason Mackey
1:43
Aside from hockey, the basics: Baseball and football, depending on the season.

jason, did you happen to see my interesting Stanley Cup stat earlier about Comey and the Penguins?
Jason Mackey
1:43
Yeah, we're not making this a political thing.
