Yes I do and yes I'd consider it. I think it's an excellent idea, and it's something I want to hear more about.
Dwayne PghGuy
2:15
I know you weren't referring to actual voice, but it leads to a good segue question. Have you heard young Pomp on the Fan?
Jason Mackey
2:15
I have. It's freaky.
Jake Bromangles
2:15
Is it in the realm of possibilities that the Conn Smythe goes to both Murray and Fleury?
Jason Mackey
2:16
I honestly don't know. I heard Friedman asking the question. I think it deserves to be asked. If it's possible, I know I would have to seriously consider the idea of it.

2:16
Who is your pick for conn smythe: Malkin or the fan who decided to start Murray in net?
Jason Mackey
2:16
I don't get the point here.
Michael
2:16
In the Ottawa series and even at the start of this one, Penguin players have had to "absorb" punches to the face after the whistle with no calls yet Malkin does it yesterday and boom - Power Play to the Preds. If the others were not so blatant, it might not be an issue but enough is enough already. Nice work Geno.
Jason Mackey
2:16
Thanks for the comment, Michael.
Dwayne PghGuy

Of course gamer wants to come off like a genius, but I personally believe the Pens would be in the same situation had MAF continued to get the start. Possibly even avoid that Game 7 last series.
Jason Mackey
2:17
That is your opinion. A sound one, too. But we'll never know.
Guido
2:17
Mr. Mackey, Can you comment on how Carter Rowney has been able to play this well, especially not having my experience with the NHL game?
Jason Mackey
2:17
I cannot. I don't know what experience you have with the NHL game.
Jon
2:17
Do you think the pens will take at least one in Nashville?
Jason Mackey
2:18
Yes. I think they split down there and have a chance to clinch in Game 5 here.
Dwayne PghGuy
2:18
If you were the Pens GM, would you try to keep MAF if he stated he was okay with the same role again next season?
Jason Mackey
2:18
I would not. He's simply not a backup. Plus, he's too expensive to be a backup.
Birdie
2:18
A lot if talk about splitting conn smythe to both goalies from Canada would anyone even be considered if Fleury didn't get us here thoughts
Jason Mackey
2:19
Arguably not. It's a solid point. It's why you have to consider it. The other two you have to think about are Guentzel and Malkin.
Dwayne-MTOguy
2:19
Barry Bonds once called Andy Van Slyke: Mister Pittsburgh. Who on the Pens would you say fits that moniker the most?
Jason Mackey
2:19
Crosby. No question.
Dwayne PghGuy
2:19
Is Chris Mueller's head as big as it looks on TV?
Jason Mackey
2:19
Yes.
Carlos
2:19
A difficult question. Which players are likely to leave next year?
Jason Mackey
2:19
I think Bonino, Daley, Hainsey, Streit, Kunitz, Cullen, Fleury and maybe Hagelin could be gone.
2:20
Should say not all of those guys will be gone. But that's your starting list in my opinion. Probably two stay.
Tom in Dallas
2:20
If the series plays out to form (Pens win), and there is no goalie change, was there ever a time when one goalie won 9 games and another one won 7 on the winning team?
Jason Mackey
2:20
I don't know off-hand, Tom, but it's a really interesting question to spend some time researching. I have a feeling I'll be doing that in the next few days.
Dwayne PghGuy
2:20
Do you find the Mayor's input (of any sort) on the Pens annoying? The whole "you take on all of Pittsburgh" nonsense is a bit much. Unless of course he is ready to put on some skates and get cross checked into the boards.
Jason Mackey
2:21
That would be fun. But no. I think we're incredibly lucky to have Mr. Peduto as Mayor.
Tom in Dallas
2:21
Any chance we see a game five in Pitts next week? Seems like this could be over in four.
Jason Mackey
2:21
Yeah, I think that will happen. Pens up 3-1.
HB
2:21
with all the winger depth the pens have do you think it would be possible to package a couple to get some defense depth?
Jason Mackey
2:22
They could, but it depends on who you're talking about. It likely won't be Guentzel, Sheary, Rust or Wilson.

Where would we be w/o high definition replays? We saw a Pens goal disallowed in Game 7 in Ottawa (interference), Nashv goal in game 1 and Pens goal last night. All way to close to reverse in real time, and unlikely unable to reverse with standard definition technology.
Jason Mackey
2:23
It's nice, but I'm also not a fan of all of the replay in pro sports. I think it's become too much.
DwayneTheTubI'mDwounding
2:23
How much roster shakeup do you forsee for this team next season?
Jason Mackey
2:24
A pretty good amount. I think you could likely see five veterans gone. Jim Rutherford could have a pretty busy/important summer.
