I like Florida as a surprise, but to the top? I think that's a little strong. I also think Buffalo will be better than last year. I just don't think they're a playoff team -- yet.

If not a career year, I think a lot of you are going to be pleasantly surprised at the Jack Johnson addition. Pens aren't asking him to do a ton, especially not if they paid him with someone like Justin Schultz. Basically just don't get embarrassed.

I kno Sully tried 72 at LW with 71 and 81 quit a bit last year. Do u see him using 72 there again? Imo it was a good line but 72 is not good on his off wing.

No, I don't think. i give Sullivan credit for trying, but Hornqvist is a RW, plain and simple. Best to stick with that.

Actually, Mackey, I've read a few rock n roll books in my time and have actually come across that Phil Lesh horse anecdote a couple of times. It seems it was just something he would do.   So i can confirm what the other person asked. Does that change your impression of Phil and what he stands for?

Yes, I think that's the sense around the team. If they have to move a center -- and they do -- Cullen would be the most likely to move.

Any tip off as to why Palojarvi is still hanging around for camp? He was far from impressive last year in the Finnish junior league, looked pedestrian at the prospect camp and doesn't have a contract with the Penguins? Are they looking to get him over to North America?

Not exactly sure of their plans, to be honest. But it's not exactly like their pipeline is overflowing with talent, guys who will squeeze him out. Could be worth seeing if there's something there.

Not set in stone, of course. Something worth monitoring in training camp. But Hayes and ZAR are on two-way deals. Certainly easier to keep them in the minors. I was told that "We didn't sign Derek Grant to play in Wilkes-Barre."

My first son is named Rider. We're naming this one Teddy. Rider always called my dad "Pap Ted." When my dad died in March, it was an easy choice.

Blueger is ready. You could see him. Also, Adam Johnson looked good at the rookie tournament. You could also see Thomas Di Pauli or Jean-Sebastien Dea at some point ... if there are injuries.

I asked him about that. He said he doesn't have social media and heard nothing. Do I believe him? No. But I don't think he's at all worried about the fan sentiment.

Jason, you should probably just google this phil lesh story. it has me kind of upset, because i researched it after i saw the question asked in here. I'm wondering now what this means about me if i support a music venture lead by a guy who would drug animals, even if it happened 50 years ago. Am i guilty by assoiciation, i don't know. Do you think a pastor or clergyman would be able to help me with this?  Troubling stuff for sure and I've been a Dead Fan even before you started writing for the PG.     Any thoughts on your behalf would be great. I love the chats and can't wait for the Season to BEGIN!
