Realistically is Chandler the “next” Shohei
Jason Mackey

With better hair.

Also what do u think the Bucs get for Frazier? Top 50 prospect?
Jason Mackey
1:16
No way. If GMBC gets that, he should be named King of the World. Multiple, younger players with years of club control. Maybe a top 100 guy. Would be stunned if he gets a top 50.

I still can’t believe that Polanco didn’t turn into a perennial all-star. So much talent, and so little apparent knowledge of how to harness it.
Jason Mackey
1:17
Yeah, it's a shame. And he's a super nice guy and works his tail off, too. Just hasn't been able to get that to consistently translate.

On the topic of the race to next year's #1 pick, do you know if Arizona or Baltimore are also likely to unload starters?
Jason Mackey
1:17
I would imagine they'll be willing to trade anybody with any value that's not part of their long-term plan.

I am surprised some draft picks have signed so much under their slot value. Other than money, can other things such as a paid college education be included in their contract or is it strictly cash? Thanks
Jason Mackey
1:18
It's strictly cash. I can't imagine the Pirates would have an issue if the dude wanted to take an online class, but it's strictly cash.

What has Keller done in the minors to get back on track? Has he changed his mechanics, etc??
Jason Mackey
1:19
We don't know. They won't say much about that or what he's been working on. It's been about fastball command, execution of pitches, etc. I don't pretend to believe those statements tell us much, but Shelton has consistently been against divulging what players are working on.

Do the Pirates keep Michael Perez or look for another backup catcher?
Jason Mackey
1:20
I think they probably look for one, although I also think they've been happy with his work and wouldn't rule out a return.

One more before you go. Personally, would you rather take 3 million to play affiliated ball or be the starting QB of one of the biggest college football programs in the country. (Now with more incentive)?
Jason Mackey
1:20
I would play affiliated ball in a heartbeat. But thats just me. Good question! Points for levity!

Who are some guys you could see moving up the minor leagues before the end of the year? Mason Martin and Matt Frazier come to mind.
Jason Mackey
1:21
Same, Andy. Same. Have really liked what those two have done. I think Priester goes up before the end of the year. Maybe Michael Burrows. You'll see some from Low-A Bradenton. Maybe Hudson Head or Endy Rodriguez. Could see Bae going up, potentially Cruz or Contreras if they're healthy.

OK, folks. That does it for me. Have to run over to the ballpark. (Not literally, it's like 110, I swear.) But a pregame Todd party to cover, as well as a likely Chandler Zoom and a game. So, thanks for participating. Talk to yinz next week.
