Hi Jason, I saw you mention the dumpster dive Davis for Chavis potential in the column today, and I agree with your analysis. Just doesn't make sense with the guys we currently have. My question is if you could see/would like to see Cherington get aggressive with guys who can slide into an opportunity here but lack it elsewhere? Specifically, I am thinking of Dom Smith on the Mets, a great defensive 1B who has shown it before with the bat. Another possibility would be Plesac in Cleveland -- it seems like we have the depth to make this immediate acquisitions, and that they are more realistic than free agent shopping.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. And I wouldn't have anything against that. But the issue, to me, is cost. Davis/Chavis worked because the cost was nothing. If someone wants to take, say, Tyler Beede, I think the Pirates would be thrilled to try it out. That isn't always possible.

OK, folks. Thanks so much. Looks like I'm not going to get to everything today, but I need to get ready to head to the park. Great chat. Sure we'll do this again around the trade deadline.
