Would Toronto consider a Bichette for Hayes trade? It seems Hayes does not give maximum effort at all times and I’m tired of his lack of offense. Change of scenery for both could be good. Throw in two or three of the Sportsnet Pittsburgh analysts if need be- they’ve got depth.

I can't speak on what Toronto would or would not consider. But I'd have to think opposing teams would be interested in Hayes' defense. Contract is team-friendly. Do they believe enough in the offense? That's the part that would determine things. I also don't think the Pirates are interested in pulling that lever.

... NOW by a John Perroto. Just clarifying .. thanks for the chats! Love them!

I know. Just saying it's not the same intel I've gotten on the situation.

Jason, what would you say is Mike Tomlin's biggest weakness?
Jason Mackey

Clock management would be up there. And maybe hiring assistant coaches. Does that count? It's baffling to me that he doesn't have a coaching tree. And recent history ... not only bringing in Matt Canada but sticking with him? Seems to be a bit of a blind spot.

Let’s look into the crystal ball. In the year 2030. Is Skenes still a Pirate on an extension or is he on a different team being traded away to maximize his value?

As much as it pains me, he's probably somewhere else. They have him through 2029, right? 2024, '25, '26, '27, '28 and '29. Again, would love to say extension. But we don't have much precedent to suggest that will happen.

Hi Jason, can you tell me why there is WVU coaches show airing in Pittsburgh and not Pitt, Duquesne or Robert Morris show?  Thanks.
Jason Mackey

Hi Debbie. I think I got this last week. I'm sorry. I don't know. Post-Gazette has nothing to do with that. I also don't have that kind of intel on SportsNet Pittsburgh's programming decisions.

To answer epiballo's question, Omar Epps.

how much longer does Cutch get a spot in the lineup let alone leading off. He at best gets 1 hit and maybe a walk. Doesn’t play the field.  Send him on his way and give a young actual ball player a shot

Cutch has been in a slump, but he has a .711 OPS. I have no problem with Cutch being a regular part of the lineup. He'll bounce back.

Is a new Sid Crosby contract just a matter of time? I remember reading speculation that he would want to finish his career playing in Canada.

Sid's not going anywhere. But ... good way to end it, I am. Thanks, everyone. Heading up to New Wilmington with the family for a night. Thanks so much for doing this. Will talk to ya next Friday!
