Ben Cherrington was praised left and right for the way the 2021 draft went. How are those players doing this year in the minor leagues?

You want updates on all 40 players? Chandler and Solometo have done well at Low-A. Davis got back to Double-A. Has shown signs but has been injured a bunch. Kellington has struggled in rookie ball, but he's also only 19. Bishop to a similar degree. It's baseball. You can't make any assessments on guys that soon.

This Pirates "rebuild" is nothing but fools gold isn't it ? There is no talent. Its the Detroit Lions in a Baseball uniform. Cruz has proven he is Gregory Polanco 2.0

I disagree with your assessment, but you're certainly allowed to feel however you wish.

What's your first-hand account of the fan split at Pitt-WVU? Saw a lot of pre-game chatter from WVU fans that the stadium was half full (or more) of Mountaineers, but it sure didn't look or sound that way on the pick six. Seemed more like 85-15 Pitt fans to me. Or maybe the upper bowl had more WVU fans and you just couldn't see them on TV?

Nah, I agree with you. I saw the ESPN thing that say 75-25 or 80-20 or whatever the heck it is. Was actually on a Zoom call with Herbstreit when that came up, and he asked me about it. The audio is funny. I went to like a falsetto, "What?" Nah, I would say about 70-30 Pitt to WVU. That said, the WVU folks were loud and fun. The atmosphere was incredible.

Hey Jason! Great name btw! How many current players with the pirates do you see on the roster within the next 2 years? And do you see the replacements on deck at AAA or will the Pirates have to spend money to actually contend? Thanks and have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Among the group that could stick: Hayes, Reynolds, Suwinski, Cruz, Castro, Keller, Brubaker, Roansy, Crowe, De Jong, Bednar, maybe Chavis, Marcano, maybe Holderman. ... the biggest group, honestly, is Double-A. That's the one to watch. That's from where most of their reinforcements over time will come.
OK, everyone. That does it for today. Gotta shower and head to PNC Park for Pirates duty tonight. Thanks as always for participating. Talk to you next week.
