Still like him. He didn't do as much as I thought he could, but he's got time
Santa
11:06
Where'd you get the sweater you were wearing on MLBN?
Jeff Sullivan
Love that sweater
The hell with suits. You don't need to wear a suit to be on television
11:07
For the love of god, it's MLB Network, not the Kennedy Center

The Red Sox seem to be sitting pat and waiting for a steal to fall to them. Are they being aggressive enough this offseason? Seems like they should be more active at least in the reliever market.
Jeff Sullivan
11:08
They just gave $68 million to Nathan Eovaldi, who had the busiest market in baseball
I can guarantee you that the Red Sox are active
Kristen
11:08
Odds SD keeps both Mejia and Hedges tbrough the offseason?
Jeff Sullivan
11:08
50%

Right now, assuming there are no more signings or trades, what team do you think is most likely to make the playoffs that didn't last year?
Jeff Sullivan
11:10
Nationals, followed by the Rays, followed by the Mets

11:11
As it stands, the 2019 Mariners aren't a horrible team. Do you think it's possible for them to rebuild properly while still fielding a 70-75 win team?
Jeff Sullivan
11:11
The Brewers went from 82 wins to 68, to 73, to 86, to 96
It's not obligatory to completely bottom out. The Mariners have mostly targeted young players who are close to the majors
11:12
Someone like Kikuchi could still make some sense
Hank
11:13
the Adam Ottovino/Babe Ruth thing had me thinking: how much of what studies show as age-related decline is actually time-related? I.e., a 40-year-old is not just slowing down, his training/form/instincts are getting outdated. If someone declines by X each year after 26, how much is age and how much is time? 90/10? 99/1? 100/0? I know there’s no way to do anything but guess, but a guess is all I want
Jeff Sullivan
11:13
Maybe something like 90/10 or 80/20? We know players get worse because bodies get worse, and we all live that, but also, the young players of today are just plain better than the young players of yesterday. Every rookie class is amazing, on its talent foundation

Odds that Encarnacion plays a game for Seattle?
Jeff Sullivan

11:15
Do you have any thoughts on the legal or ethical implications of orgs using wearables to track non-baseball activities like sleep and diet in their players?
Jeff Sullivan
11:16
I don't want teams knowing how their players sleep, and I don't want teams knowing how their players eat. Not completely, I mean, beyond just like asking them. The extent of it should be promoting positive sleeping habits, and making quality and nutritional food available
11:17
If a player volunteers to submit all of his own personal information to his employer, well, I don't know how you say no. But it can't go in the other direction
Bearry
11:17
Rays trade for Realmuto, keep him and flip Zunino for Gray or somewhere, flip for Syndergaard, or keep all?
Jeff Sullivan
11:17
I don't know why a roster would have both Realmuto and Zunino on it
11:18
The Rays seem like they're going to be in need of making a consolidation trade. Realmuto isn't the only player who would make sense, but he's one of them
Hae-Lo Dee
11:18
What do you think is going to happen with Felix?
Jeff Sullivan
11:18
He'll begin the year as a starter. He'll end the year as a reliever
2-D
11:19
AAA is going to start using the same ball as the majors this year. Do you think that'll require much of a re calibration period for scouts and stat evaluation?
Jeff Sullivan
11:19
Should be subtle. And all the teams have Triple-A Trackman, so they'll figure out what's changing pretty fast
Al West
11:20
Will Seattle win 50 games next year?
Jeff Sullivan
11:20
Yes
Andrew F.
11:20
Am I going to trade for Kluber or Realmuto, or just continue to work around the fringes?
Jeff Sullivan
11:20
I still expect a blockbuster
Joe
11:20
Wouldn't it just be easier for the Mets to sign Ramos and keep Thor?
Jeff Sullivan
11:20
Yes
Gus Chiggins

Ross Atkins mentioned having 18 year old rule 5er Elvis Luciano brought in to face Aaron Judge this year. How strange and (un)realistic would such cruel punishment be?
Jeff Sullivan
11:21
Very strange, but not cruel. Might even be the highlight of Luciano's career!
All right, I need to get rolling
