not at all
24, top prospect, barely played last season
Taylor
10:48
With Garcia in the fold, what is the projected rotation for the Braves in 2017?
Jeff Sullivan
10:48
This is easier than ever! Teheran/Colon/Garcia/Foltynewicz/Dickey

How well do cumulative team injury days explain who makes the playoffs and who doesn't in a given year? What if you tweaked that by multiplying injury-days of each player by their expected WAR?
Jeff Sullivan
10:49
Yeah, days doesn't tell you much. You need to know the quality of the players who're missing time. So you absolutely need some sort of WAR multiplier

Is Haniger the full time starting RF come May?
Jeff Sullivan
10:50
I don't think he's a full-time guy this year, but I do think he ends up with 300 - 400 PA
Isaiah
10:51
Great range at 3rd base prevents doubles while great range at SS prevents singles. Could you argue for having your better defender at 3rd?
Jeff Sullivan
10:52
Not really. Last year, shortstops had 12% more batted balls in their zone. Plus, they made more out-of-zone plays, by a lot
Shortstops get way more opportunities and there just aren't that many tricky would-be doubles down the line to offset things

As a Bucco fan, why should I potentially be excited for Robles?
Jeff Sullivan
10:53
One of the highest-ceiling young outfielders around
Mark
10:53
Why would the Nats want to dump Espinosa? He's got one major flaw (cant make contact) but has pop, is a good baserunner, and can play the hell out of SS (and presumably other infield positions). That's a valuable player, especially since Rendon and Zimmerman aren't exacly the paragon of health.
Jeff Sullivan
10:54
I think he just frustrates the Nationals too much. They won't want to pay his salary to be a reserve
Andrew
10:54
Did the Mets make the wrong decision building around SPs rather than position players? Or is it just a they-did-the-best-with-what-they-had kinda thing?
Jeff Sullivan
10:54
I don't think it was a conscious choice. It's how things played out, and while 2016 didn't go so great, 2015 was fantastic and all those pitchers are still present and good
Carl
10:54
Could M's move Cano's contract without eating any $ after his 2016 bounce-back?
Jeff Sullivan
10:55
Doubt it
Taylor
10:55
If the Braves want to continue and help out their young pitchers, why didn't they sign a pitcher friendly catcher in Jason Castro? Didn't seem like a high price to pay
Jeff Sullivan
10:55
Flowers is a pitcher-friendly catcher
Yancy From Fort Myers
10:55
Ever wake up and be like "I don't wanna write about baseball today"?
Jeff Sullivan
10:55
Of course!
Like, say, the day after the election. Literally who could've cared?
Strasburg
10:56
Think the strong McCutchen rumors say anything we didn't know about how likely the Nats think it is I'll be healthy next year?
Jeff Sullivan
10:56
No connection
Jon Snow
10:57
Judge, Mateo and Severino good enough for Sale?
Jeff Sullivan
10:57
Not after the year Mateo just had
Adam
10:57
How seriously are the Dodgers looking at trading for Kinsler/Dozier/other second baseman? Are they looking seriously at having Kike Hernandez get the majority of PAs?
Jeff Sullivan
10:57
No, Hernandez will not be the 2B starter next season
Ike
10:57
O's trying to get McCutheon? Would the Pirates consider Wade Miley, Brad Brach, Hunter Harvey, and some other mid-tier prospects.
Jeff Sullivan
10:57
Basically zero chance
Sean
10:57
In regards to the spirit animal question, I don't think you ever want to google sea otter and rape
Jeff Sullivan
10:58
Animals don't possess a sense of morality and we probably shouldn't project our own
Aggressively Mediocre
10:58
Why aren't postseason stats included in a player's career totals? Obviously the ASG stats are different, but postseason games are meaningful games with meaningful stats.
Jeff Sullivan
10:58
I agree with you
I get it for the sake of consistency when comparing between players, but when you're reviewing someone's individual career, it's stupid to throw good numbers out
Like, the postseason is basically what makes David Ortiz's HoF case
Andrew
10:59
Heyman just mentioned that the Nats are looking at Desmond as a fallback option in CF (moving Turner to SS) if McCutchen doesn't work out. Would you rather have Turner in CF/Desmond at SS, or vice versa?
Jeff Sullivan
10:59
I don't think that's going to happen anyway. I think they get McCutchen
