You know who might actually balance out a Lopez+Robles for McCutcheon deal? Felipe Rivero!
Jeff Sullivan
10:35
I wonder if there's a way to get the Pirates to also include Watson
Jon Snow
10:36
Who trades for Sale?
Jeff Sullivan
10:36
Right now my slight favorite is the Red Sox

Jason Groome is 18 and 6’6”. Do you know what the odds are that he keeps growing, say to Big Unit territory? How does that affect the ability to project him?
Jeff Sullivan
10:36
I assume the odds are extremely low. Who adds four inches after turning 18?
By that point most people are basically done getting taller. They just expand in other directions
Rick
10:37
Who do the Royals trade away this offseason? Felt like the CBA could possibly alter their strategy a bit.
Jeff Sullivan
10:37
Right now I don't think they do much this offseason, but they could be very active sellers in July
Carl
10:37
Do you think Felix is done as an elite SP? He supposedly is working to strengthen his lower body this winter, etc.
Jeff Sullivan
10:38
I think he is done, yes, at least in terms of being consistently great. But I'm also an optimist about most things
Jason
10:38
All this Chris Sale and Chris Archer talk, give us one surprise #1/2 starting pitcher type that could be move before either of them?
Jeff Sullivan

What would it take for a team to acquire Quintana? A top 20 prospect and some other stuff?
Jeff Sullivan
10:39
The Sale package, minus 5-10%
Nate
10:39
Gallo/Profar + a lesser piece (5-10 in the org) enough for Sale or Archer?
Jeff Sullivan
10:39
Nah. Gallo and Profar have seen their values tank
John
10:39
Do you think Hosmer is a better player than the metrics say?
Jeff Sullivan
10:39
Not by very much, no

Not to long ago someone asked Dave who he would like to see a career re-do. He chose Eric Davis. I often wonder about Nomar Garciaparra. In his first 6 full seasons he averaged 6.4 WAR then from 2004-2009 he couldn't stay healthy. He averaged 0.5 WAR during that timeframe. I know you chose Ryan Anderson aka "little unit". Do you have a position player in mind?
Jeff Sullivan
10:40
Nick Johnson?
Robert
10:41
biggest deal you think happens at the winter Meeting? FA or Trade
Jeff Sullivan
10:41
I'd say McCutchen but I feel like there's a great chance that happens before the meetings officially start?

T/F: a 6 win player making 10 mil/year with one year left on his contract (ignoring the value of a QO rejection) is worth the same as a 1 win player making 1 mil/year for 6 years
Jeff Sullivan
10:43
False. Teams care mostly about the season directly ahead, and all future value needs to be discounted somewhat.

Is Joe Maddon still a genius or did the Cubs win the WS in spite of him?
Jeff Sullivan
10:43
I think Maddon's genius as a strategist is overstated, but his genius as a leader is perfectly stated

Re: King Felix. I know this probably isn't true but it just *seems* like he's so naturally talented that he's never really had to try very hard to be elite. Is it unreasonable to think if he really tried to reinvent himself (or work to strengthen his lower half, his core, etc.) that he could be elite once again?
Jeff Sullivan
10:44
I don't think it's unreasonable -- the last couple years he's had real lower-body problems. He's already shown he could adjust to severely reduced velocity. At this point it's a location thing. His stuff is good enough if he can command it better
Justin Verlander came back. It's not impossible

Who or what deserves credit for the O's success the last 5 years? Do you see continued success doing whatever they are doing over the next 5 years? Any interesting predictions for their offseason.
Jeff Sullivan
10:45
Their bullpen has been amazing. I think, organizationally, they're in a lousy position, and pretty soon they're going to have to make some real tough calls. But what they've already been able to do the last few years is excellent and a credit to the team
Jake
10:45
Chances McCutchen gets traded today?
Jeff Sullivan
10:45
50-60%?
Alan
10:46
As a Cards fan, I like the idea of Dyson to StL. But, as a Cards fan, I also remember what happened last time St. Louis traded for a speedy defensive center fielder. I'm pretty sure Busch's home bench is still warm from Bourgos.
Jeff Sullivan
10:46
Bourjos' defense tanked in 2015 and he was never as good as Dyson on the bases. I think it's worth a shot!

10:48
If you're Antonetti, what are your offseason priorities for the Indians?
Jeff Sullivan
10:48
Pretty easy -- find a 1B and a part-time CF who's good in the field
Jeb
10:48
Am I wrong to think that Blake Swihart could still be a thing?
