Jeff Sullivan

Who cares?
Carl
10:24
Was Todd Frazier basically a throw in in this trade?
Jeff Sullivan
10:24
Slightly better than a throw-in. He does have value; he just has less value than the other two players included
OC
10:24
Think schoop's year is a breakout/new baseline looking forward, or more of a peak year?
Jeff Sullivan
10:25
Right now I think it's more of a peak year than a breakout year. I still don't trust his discipline, and he continues to pop up too often
Eric
10:25
Dodgers gonna do anything or nah? If so, will it be the usual low-key thing that just annoys everyone?
Jeff Sullivan
10:25
I like how it could be considered annoying that the Dodgers might not do anything, even though they haven't lost in like a month and a half
2-D
10:25
Assuming Frazier plays 1B for the Yankees, who matches up best for Alonso now?
Jeff Sullivan
10:25
I don't think Frazier is automatically going to be the regular 1B
10:26
By which I mean, don't close the door on Alonso just yet
Xolo
10:26
Is Britton really that much better than Brad Hand?
Jeff Sullivan
10:26
Yes
But Hand is good too, and will be valued as such
Trades!
10:27
With a small market for bats, was JD the only significant name that will be traded? Guys like Bruce and Melky, will have get moved?
Jeff Sullivan
10:27
Feels like August stuff more than late-July stuff
tom steele
10:27
is baseball the best or the worst? i can never decide
Jeff Sullivan
10:27
Everything you love is both
HeeHaw
10:27
When was the last time a team has been as active as the White Sox when selling? Everything not named Southpaw appears to be in the clearance bin.
Jeff Sullivan
10:28
Other teams have been active like this before. They just had an easier starting position
You don't really need to go out of your way to market the players they've had to deal
Attila the Hunplugged
10:28
Worried about Aroldis at all?
Jeff Sullivan
10:28
Not worried, but curious
Ray
10:28
Odds Dombrowski panics and trades Devers for a 3B with ML experience now that Yankees moved?
Jeff Sullivan
10:28
I wouldn't expect Dave Dombrowski to be much of a panicker
Carl
10:31
It does  seem hard to believe the Indians could not offer any better than the D-backs did for JD.  Are they trying to go even cheaper for an impact bat? Jay Bruce?
Jeff Sullivan
10:31
I don't look at the Indians and see a true need, with Brantley/Zimmer/Chisenhall/Guyer
10:32
It's not the sexiest outfield in the world, but it's good enough to work
Nickels
10:32
Is Kanhle the most valuable player coming back to the Yanks in the deal?
Jeff Sullivan
10:32
I think so
seth
10:32
Does this mean Alonso stays in OAK and gets a QO after the season? not much demand out there right now...Or do Yankees come back to get him and move Headley to the bench/Frazier to 3rd?
Jeff Sullivan
10:32
To add on to what was above, I do think there's a real possibility Alonso re-signs where he is
Dan
10:32
I read Dave's piece but still think the JD return package is light.
Jeff Sullivan
10:33
I think it's possible for a return to be simultaneously light and about the best you can do. In theory, they could've held on and gone the QO route, but the compensation won't be that valuable either
Marcus Banks
10:33
If Kahnle is as good as you say he is then I think he was worth Babe Rutherford.
Jeff Sullivan
10:34
Important to note that Kahnle is probably more of a risk than other guys, just because of the lack of a track record, and his adjustments have been subtle. He didn't add a new pitch and suddenly dominate. He made little tweaks and became dominant. He *has* been truly elite. Still unclear how much of that sticks, but all signs are positive
Slick Rick Hahn
10:35
Will anyone give me something decent for Avisail Garcia? Or should I hold on to him?
Jeff Sullivan
10:35
Did you see the J.D. Martinez deal?
Garcia wouldn't fetch very much
Chaps
10:36
First Trout, now Correa, is the headfirst slide the new trampoline?
Jeff Sullivan
10:36
And Trout *immediately* came back and stole a base with a headfirst slide
