Wow interesting format ... my best guesses:

A) Drop Cags for depth
B) Would not think that either of the Astros are droppable; Warren might be. (In theory in a 10-teamer, would take Warren for Cags, for instance)

Looks like Clay Holmes may be running out of gas.  Would you replace him with Soroka, Cantillo or Cecconi in a 4x4?
Brent Hershey
12:49
Would consider, yes. Cecconi, Soroka would be better bets than Cantillo (though I like Joey's C's 2-step this week)

Hi Brent: Zebby or Charlie Morton ROS? Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:49
Zebby; pretty easily. Looked good under the hood last week though surface numbers disagree.

Happy Monday, Brent.  Is Langeliers a top 5 C in shallow roto leagues the rest of the year?  Is Diaz top 10?
Brent Hershey
12:50
Langerliers - no, but think I'd take him over Diaz ROS.

NL 10 team 5x5 - ROS for J Junk & B Lord? Are they reasonably ok to roster - can we trust them not to destroy us?
Brent Hershey
12:51
I'm not touching Lord; Junk I can live with and take that chance a bit easier, but not exactly convinced yet, either.

I’m in a highly competitive,Yahoo standard 12 team, H2H league, However, Teoscar Hernandez is taking up a valuable slot, but with dismal production. I am strongly wanting to drop him and seek a better use of this so far wasted slot. I would appreciate your valuable insights. Thank you.
Brent Hershey

Mentioned Teo earlier; I still believe in the track record here ... but as always, depends who the other options are.

Which closer do you most expect to get dealt at the deadline?

Hi Brent, 5X5, 16 team redraft. How soon do you think David Robertson will be back in the big show with Philly and will he eventually slot into the closer's role or be part of a committee.
Brent Hershey
12:55
Think this is a long-shot depth move that they had to make b/c of how thin the bullpen is. Would be floored if this was the only RP move they make; whoever else they bring in, along with Kerkering and Strahm, are going to be more likely to get saves than Robertson rest of season, IMO.

Also, starting him at Triple-A, so shouldn't be too long (a couple outings, assuming he does fine) until he's active. And to be clear, I think he could be a nice piece ... I'm just skeptical of picking him up expecting saves.

A disgruntled owner in our NL-only dynasty league is shopping Brenton Doyle. My team lacks OFers for 2026. Worth a shot for a rebound or stay away from the Rockies because they are the Rockies?
Brent Hershey
12:56
Worth a shot for 2026 I think. Wouldn't want to pay a March 2025 price, though.
Brent Hershey

I'll try to buzz through another pile here before I need to run ..

Hi Brent,
Tied for first in my home league where I have a great offense and wants some ratio/holds help.
RP are basically fungible in my league except for a few elite arms.
Which of these 3 options seems most palatable in 12-team mixed redraft where score W, L, IP, QS, K/9, WHIP, ERA and HSVH:
1.     I trade Gore ($9 CDG in my league) for R. Iglesias ($6)
2.     I trade Pivetta ($16) for Duran ($10)
3.     I pick up a free Weaver off waivers ($5)

Duran is the arm I want and pundits have been warning on an increase in HR/F for Pivetta. But Nick is pitching great. Iggy seems a middling option unless he gets traded (and I like Gore). Weaver is free but I worry about him regaining form and his place in the leverage ladder.

Here is my staff: SP(Kirby, Pepiot, Rasmussen, Lodolo, Schlittler, Gore, Pivetta, A. Nola (IL) and RP (Cade Smith, Trevor Megill, Yates, Abreu and ___?)
Brent Hershey
12:58
Might do 1; would not trade Pivetta; Weaver from waivers might meet your needs the best.

NL only, saves/Holds league.  I picked up BLord to help Holds... but now he is an SP.  Should I be frightened?  Tendency to drop him now.  Thoughts?
Brent Hershey
12:58
Drop for me

Is YGarcia elbow injury serious?  any news to enlighten me with?
Brent Hershey
12:58
No special news; discouraged by the injury string this year for him

Manzardo or Mayo, who has  more long-term upside and how likely will they reach it? Also, Bello has looked pretty good lately. Has he found something or just small sample size? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:59
Manzardo on both counts; some changes in Bello has me back in

hi Brent, which 2 should I bench this week: j polanco, n gonzales, butler, j sanchez, m vargas?I need more hr than sb. thank you
Brent Hershey

Vargas and Polanco
Porcho Villa

Is it sacrilege to consider moving on from William Contreras? Still getting great volume and putting up a solid OBP, but power has vanished, possibly because of the finger fracture he's been playing through. Would you consider replacing him with any of Sean Murphy, Ivan Herrera, or Francisco Alvarez? (5x5 OBP)
Brent Hershey
1:00
Herrera for sure, Murphy strong consideration. Prob keep over Alvarez
Not Chandler Simpson
1:00
Would you start Ha-Seong Kim over Luis Rengifo? Rengifo is projected higher by BBHQ over the rest of the way, but Kim seemingly has more upside, no? Rengifo hasn't run at all.
Brent Hershey

Yes to HS-K

Hello, Brett! Is it worth hanging on to K.Campbell of the RSox, even though he's still in the minors, in hopes of an eventual call up?
Brent Hershey
1:02
I think so, but can't fully answer without knowing your bench setup/rules. Has a shot to return and contribute
Mal

When do we know it's time to give up on an HQ projection?  Random example, Kirby Yates, has been roughed up quite a bit this season but projections show him as one of the best relievers available.
Brent Hershey
1:04
Esp with relievers, samples are so small that following projections religiously at this point in the season is tough. Read the current skills and validate/invalidate results is just as important
WayOffBase

Brent, just a thanks for all you do.

Thank YOU all for showing up!

And with that, we're all caught up! Have a great day and week. Ray will be back here on Friday.
