Would not be surprised if they attempt to replace him with a deadline move.

NL Only- Need to sort among Manaea, Freeland, Herz, Pallante.  What order, and how many are roster worthy vs. taking a good/decent reliever (eg Estrada )?
Brent Hershey
12:36
Manaea stands out; roster-worthy depends on league depth and other options. I'd go Herz/Pallante/Freeland after that; would think the RP line is between Herz and Pallante.

Neris owner waiting for the shoe to drop. Merryweather and Pearson are both in the FA pool today. Who is the better bet for 2025 to close (Leiter and Hodge already rostered currently)?
Brent Hershey
12:36
Would take the Merryweather flyer first, though I think it's close with those choices. And yeah, the Neris era has to be coming to a close very soon.

Hi Brent. Considering Paredes’ strict pull tendencies, how does he project in the confines of Wrigley? Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:40
Seems like it could be significant. In Statcast's HR in other parks eval, Wrigley is third-lowest HR total for 2024 Paredes. And his 2023 figure is discounted also.

How does the move to TB impact your view of Morel for the rest of this season? Who would you prefer to roster between him and 2024 Barry Bonds, er, I mean Tyler Fitzgerald? (5x5 OBP)
Brent Hershey
12:42
Though could be trap given his TF's insane week, think I'd still choose Fitzgerald over Morel rest of season for fantasy. Better-rounded profile for fantasy production. Interested, though, in what Tampa squeezes out of Morel.

Got Birdsong with a minimal free agent bid weeks back and he's showing some interesting swing and miss stuff. Mid-rotation potential, and is he the guy who gets the ball if Snell gets dealt?
Brent Hershey
12:44
Yes to mid-rotation, and his showing so far can't hurt. If Snell moves on, feel like Birdsong is the pivot, even with Ray and Cobb back. Like what I've seen so far from Birdsong.

Is Framber Valdez turning things around or is this a blip?
Brent Hershey
12:45
History of inconsistency says the latter -- though that doesn't mean the possible upcoming stretch isn't worth rostering.

Who do you like for saves in TB? Kelly? Poche? Bigge?
Brent Hershey
12:47
Prob Kelly, yes. Don't think TAM hands it to Bigge right away.

Love the chats.
I am in 3rd place with a shot at the top spot in a 6X6 (normal with slugging and holds added) rotisserie league.
I have three questions:

  1. Is there any hope for Ke'Bryan Hayes this year? He has been a major disappointment. Only options are young guys, likely with questions of their own.
  2. I just added Xavier Edwards, Tyler Fitzgerald and Juan Yepez, so I will take risks. I have Heston Kjerstad and Noelvi Marte on my bench. I need to replace Julio Rodriguez at my Utility spot. Should I use one of them, or find someone else on the waiver wire?
  3. I use six starters. I have Bradley, Kirby, Lodolo, G. Rodriguez, Hunter Brown and Zac Gallen active with newly. I just picked up Robbie Ray on waivers. Would you use him since he has been strong since coming off the IL, or leave my six starters in place?
  4. Thank you.
Brent Hershey

  1. You likely have to just ride Hayes' year out, unless there's a clear upgrade. Positives: he's had some VG second halves in his career (which have raised expectations for the following year).
  2. Of the five, I'd rank them Fitzg / Noelvi / Edwards for this week.
  3. I'd probably leave that six-pack in place for now. Nice group.

Jeff Springs finally back in action tomorrow with a nice home matchup vs. the Jazzless Marlins. Mixed results in rehab but finished with 85 pitches so in theory won't be limited-- though in practice TB just waved the white flag and is clearly thinking more about 2025. Two-parter: (1) Would you drop Tyler Phillips to activate Springs (losing his upcoming start @SEA), or wait and see how the first start goes? And (2) who do you prefer ROS, Springs or the incredibly health-challenged Bryan Woo? (5x5 QS)
Brent Hershey
12:53
1) I'd wait and see with that Phillips start @SEA as your other option
2) Ugh ... for ROS, probably Woo. Agree both are risky. Woo has done more for me lately.

It appears Suwinski is being sent down and I need a replacement in a deep 4x4 NL only with BA and HR the primary need.  Michael Taylor and Lamont Wade are available.  Who helps the most ROS?
Brent Hershey
12:53
Wade, slightly.

Thanks for doing these! Just traded Lawrence Butler for Ezequiel Tovar, did I do good? What's your dynasty assessment on the two?
Brent Hershey
12:55
In a vacuum, I'd rather have Butler but it's close. Better Statcast numbers for LB ... but Tovar has put together a nice growth season at a young age. Both have secure PT ahead of them, it seems.

Top contender in 12-tm, H2H, category. Need to add bat and drop an SP, please rank ROS (w any comments) my current staff R Lopez, G Stone, N Cortes, Pepiot( IL), R Olson (IL), H Brown, G Williams, Baz, Kershaw, Schwellenbach. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:57
Most droppable are Cortes, Lopez (assuming the worst on his forearm injury AND there were IP concerns before that anyway) and Olson. Sure seems like you have the depth to withstand a drop

Can redsox coaches revive J Paxton?
Brent Hershey

I'm skeptical. In anything outside of an AL-only, I'm passing.

your thoughts onwho closes in boston 2025? also, please rank dynasty..Basalo, Clark, emannuel odriguez, and roman anthony. thank you
Brent Hershey

A) Slaten intrigues me
B) Basallo stands out ... then Clark / Anthony / E-Rodriguez. All three of those are close

Are we seeing the start of Arighetti breakout?

Maybe? Love the Ks; has shown resiliency when I've watched him. Still just mid-rotation upside.

Abe Toro: what do you make of him?
Brent Hershey

Useful piece in deeper leagues right now while he's playing. Not much long-term appeal.

Hi Brent, do we see a Owen Cassie or Coby Mayo call up anytime soon?
Brent Hershey

Mayo much more likely than Caissie IMO -- either on BAL or elsewhere if traded.

I've been offered Tyler Black MIL in a trade in an NL-only keeper league.  Chances he gets a fulltime job (a) this season or (b) 2025?
