Brett- Good morning here from vacationland Maine! When is Baseball HQ coming out with their mid-season updated top 100 prospect list? How would you rank the following AL prospects-Bo Naylor (C-CLE) , Royce Lewis (injured ss MIN) and Oswald Peraza (SS-NYY) Which of these might make an appearance this year?
Brent Hershey
12:48
Mid-season list will be in two weeks (after the All Star Break and our MLB draft coverage). I'm likely to rank them Lewis/Peraza/Naylor long-term. Love the pre-injury adjustments from Lewis at the MLB level, so most confidence in him even though has to overcome the injury. This year appearance is rough ... not sure CLE or NYY have a spot for either right now. If I have to make a choice, I'd say more likely Naylor appears than Peraza -- though OP definitely the better prospect for me. Just not sure where he fits this year w/ Yanks.

Hey Brent, thanks for answering our questions!  I own Shane Mcllanahan in a roto keeper league, and my team is going for it this year.  How many innings do you think Shane has left this season and would you be open to moving him for a package that puts you over the top this year?  I can net Z Wheeler and Hader for him (saves my biggest need).

Boy, I'm not one to consider trading McClanahan, esp in a keeper, but if you're going for it, this is one of the few types of offers I'd strongly consider. A current top starter and one of the top 3 closers. If you're convinced this will do it, Flags fly forever, etc.

Half point out of first in 12-team NL only keeper league. I own both Gorman and Abrams (former draft picks) and need to deal one for SP. Hate to part with Abrams because of the scarcity of SB across MLB, but he's not contributing much and may find himself in El Paso again soon. Gorman's pop is legit and appealing at MI, but he looks like a one-tool player. What's an owner to do?
Brent Hershey

Like the last question, FFF. I'd probably prefer to see if I could fill my need with trading Gorman. Lots more of NG profiles out there than CJA. More likely for me that CJA has a more fantasy-friendly career, and if you're able to weather the early bumpy ride, than you do that. And ... he's hit some more recently (esp against LHP, which is GREAT to see).

Please rank the following hitters - Ozuna, Springer, Hoskins, Teoscar, Muncy

Another plea for context in these, folks! League size, categories, keeper/redraft etc, makes a difference. Without that, I'll go ...
Springer, Teoscar, Hoskins, Ozuna, Muncy

Happy Monday, Brent.
In a points league where HR are 6 points and SB and RBI are 3, who would start this week at DH: Berti, M. Carpenter, or Biggio? Is the ROS ranking Berti > Carpenter > Biggio?

Second question: who is the best speculative saves source: E. Phillips, Y. Garcia, W. Crowe, or E. Phillips?
Brent Hershey
12:57
1) Berti
1a) Yes, for now, though not 100% sure I trust Carpenter long-term. Biggio could be #2
2) E Phillips for me

Is it worth jumping on Gavin Stone for this year/next year or still too early?
Brent Hershey
12:59
If you're in a league where he's relevant, it's probably not too early.

You've consistently argued that BOS will give Matt Barnes the job once he gets straight.  Still think so?  Is their September closer not on the team yet?
Brent Hershey
1:01
Consistently? I've not been here for two weeks, lol! Seriously, though, haven't said that since the injury, so as of now, not holding that position anymore. Think it's POSSIBLE that some mix of Houck + Whitlock + ??? could work ... but probably more likely they trade for someone at the deadline, yes.

Is Nick Lodolo a top 50 SP ROS?
Brent Hershey
1:02
Technically, gonna say no ... but it's close and wouldn't surprise me if he snuck in there.
Brent Hershey

Wow, that hour flew by. Will try to grab a couple more of these quickly here.

Hi Brent, which player would you drop if you had to: Raleigh, Haase, Braxton Garrett? Leaning towards Garrett. Also, what are your thoughts on B. Singer, Josiah Gray, and R. Contreras ROS? Their volatility has been tough but I like the upside on all three. 16 team H2H category league, 32-man rosters (with keepers). Thanks!
Brent Hershey

Garrett. ROS rank: Singer/Roansy/Gray

Any good underlying numbers for Johan Moncada? 5x5 10-team league so there are other options but keep thinking him and rest of Sox lineup will take off.
Brent Hershey

Not overly thrilled by that; like better options in a 10

Speed round.  Which one pitcher would you start this week where you are looking for a Win and QS only: Stripling KC, Singer DET, or Marquez at DET?
Brent Hershey

Singer

Rough start for Vinnie Pasquantino, but under the hood he looks pretty good so far. Thoughts on his first couple weeks? Is he must own in 12 team leagues?
Brent Hershey
1:04
Yes, for now.

Hi Brent, Any updated news on Whit Merrifield's toe injury? Will he be day to day or is it more than that?
Brent Hershey

No inside info here. Awaiting the same news as you!

Need to drop one: Leody Tavaras or Adam Duvall to activate Eloy.  Duvall likely to lose time given Rosario activation and for some reason, tavaras is only part time.  Thoughts on who to drop?
Brent Hershey
1:05
Duvall

Speaking of Knebel:  HQ seems to believe he will reclaim the closer job this season, even though Dominguez & Hand are getting the saves now.  Still believe it?  I know you said he has the contract, but it's a sunk cost, and they might flip him.
Brent Hershey
1:07
Still a chance, but for me it's dwindling; he hasn't looked consistently good yet. That save the other day was a white-knuckle job. Had pitched better in low-leveraged situations. Strongly doubt that they'll flip him.

Hey Brent,  Do you think Liberatore can hold onto his rotation spot for the rest of the season?
Brent Hershey
1:07
Could hold; though see talk of young starters above. Likely to be rocky.

Alright, thanks, all! Will be back next week as far as I know; same time, but from Sunny LA! As mentioned above, plan to be a bit more active on Twitter over the next week or so at least; can follow my musings there @BrentHQ. Have a great one; thanks for the questions and we'll talk again soon!
