AL only, standard rotis keeper league. I need to pick up a fifth starter to waive the one pitcher killing my ERA and WHIP, Bailey Ober. Looking at Brandon Walter, David Festa, Eric Lauer, Jack Perkins. I know Perkins not in rotation yet, only a matter of time given their rotation. What do you think? Thanks!

Would lean Walter (and maybe even Festa) before Perkins. Do agree that Perkins will find his way in there at some point, but that home park is scary for unproven rooks.

Did not realize that, but sitting 2 games 6/12 and 6/13 due to "groin tightness" sure seems like a plausible explanation.

Marcel Ozuna's past month has been an epic disaster yet your Batting Surgers Column a few weeks ago gives him high marks?  Has the hip injury caught up to him?

Surgers column was over a month ago; the L31 days have been brutal. Might lean recency bias in this case -- like Jazz, a plausible explanation given what we had heard about the hip earlier in the season.

Ober has a 17-1 K/BB ratio over the last 3 starts but has given up 18 runs. He's given up 30 runs in the last 5 starts. What is wrong with the guy and do the Twins just send him down to fix it?

Has small margin for error given lower velo than some ... and that's off another couple mph. Dangerous when that happens to someone who's around the plate. I'm sure Twins are working on it. Fantasy owners have to bench him (or release him) at this point.

Brent thank you for the chat. 12 tm Roto keeper 6x6 with BB/Hlds. I need your evaluation on Josh Jung. Is Jung a keeper or maybe move on to M.Vargas or K.Hayes. Also what are your thoughts about Michael Harris II as a keeper? Thank you

Jung too young to give up on as a keeper; def prefer him to Hayes (nil keeper value for me). Vargas is closer -- but still think I prefer Jung's power bat — Vargas likely a bit more well-rounded. Also still feel Harris has keeper value — another super young player. But it's a rough 2025 for him for sure. If your league is 12 mixed; then eval goes down on Harris for sure.

Bonus Question: Is Correa over Adames and Boegarts still the right move? (Adames w/ the extra game??)

I'd probably lean Marte; he's supposed to be active tomorrow; I'm less optimistic on Burger, as there's been very few updates that I've seen on his return date.

Yeah, might play Adames over Correa for the extra game this week.

Hi Brent,

16 team H2H points league. $430 cap, 40 player roster - 23 active & 17 bench. Deep league. We start 5 SPs and 6 RPs with the caveat that RPs don't start - RPs only. Of particular pitching significance is that QS=8 pts, W=L=4 pts. QS are vary important. I rely a lot on HQ's SP Match-Up Ratings.

My top 4 SP are almost no-brainers: (1) Valdez vs LAD, (2) Bubic vs ARI (3) Boyd vs CLE, STL, (4) Woo vs KC

The 5th starter is one of Cabrera (vs MIN, vs MIL, or May vs CWS

Neither gives me a lot of confidence. Cabrera or May?

On the hitting side Goldschmidt's slump and Bell's seeming hot streak makes me go with Bell at 1B. That leaves 2 issues:

CI - R. Urias or Baty
DH - Oneil Cruz or Yainer Diaz. Cruz's benching seems to have waken him up. Cruz or Diaz?

Cabrera over May; seen enough Cabrera improvements (walk rate) to pull me back into believing the rest of this skills set. vMIL is tough given recent MIL performance, but maybe they'll have cooled off by the end of the week.
