Cautiously interested in Burrows. More of a stable, mid-rotation guy who doesn't get a ton of Ks but keeps you in games at maturity than a high-upside K arm. Ashcraft might, but long-term strikes me more as a RP play.

Good day, Brent!  Happy 4th of July!  In deep 4x4 NL only.  I picked up Kepler a few weeks ago and he has been "meh" to say the least.  I read Stephen Nickrand's column this AM on Young Targets and Daylen Lile caught my attention.  Seems like a reasonable risk to drop Kepler for Lile. Agree? (This is a keeper league so if either pans out, I have him for $10 for two more years.)
Brent Hershey
12:45
If you're strictly focused on keepers, then yes Lile > Kepler. But it's still a longshot that either will be a strong $10 keeper come next March. And I'm not sure Lile survives the Dylan Crews return. Might give Kepler another week or two, especially in light of the PT comments he made recently. Give that a bit of time to see if anything changes for him.

Hey Brent. Thanks for taking my question. For ROS, would you prefer Caballero TB or O.Lopez MIA.  Like the steals from Caballero, but it seems like his overall playing time is fading away. Do you think Lopez continues to play well? Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:47
Yes, I think the arrows are going in the opposite direction here, and Lopez's is the one heading up. Good BA, stable PT, some pop and speed. Even more comfortable with him being at 2B instead of SS.

What are your thoughts on Fitts and Bello this week for BOS?  Also, the SP Matchup guide doesn't list Sawyer Gipson-Long...is that because you expect Reese Olson back?  If SGL does pitch how is his outlook this week?
Brent Hershey
12:53
Would prefer Bello over Fitts; BB has seemed to re-find something the past few and is more likely to hold these gains. Fitts not a horrible play, just not as much to go on.

Yes, the assumption is that Olson will pitch Tue or Wed (though he's not in the Matchups Guide either). Deitrich Enns seemed to be the logical odd man out with Olson returning, but he's supposed to pitch on Thursday. My guess is that SGL gets a long relief appearance in here at some point this week; there are worse matchups than WAS and CLE.

Is Jo Adell finally breaking out?
Brent Hershey
12:53
Yes, though I don't expect this level all season.

Hey Brent, Parker Meadows a hold in mixed 12 team rotos still?  Using as my UT bat right now.  Would you drop for Hoskins; OLopez; Stott; NMarte; McMahon?  Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:55
Would drop for Marte. OLopez would be next closest, but I'd probably hold Meadows for another week of info.

Hey Brent! Need saves in a 12 teamer who should I pick up - Grant Taylor / Robert Garcia / Kerkering
Brent Hershey
12:56
Garcia pretty easily. Likely Taylor next, as I would see him getting 'the job' for the ROS easier than Kerkering.

Cam Smith 2H will be putting up a ______ second half?
Brent Hershey
12:59
Rookie of the Year Worthy.

Have loved his AB since spring training. Think more power is coming, and the roughest patch is over. Not saying he wins ROY, but he can be in that convo. Power, BA, bit more speed than you realize.
Brent Hershey

Whew, 1p already ... will try and slam through 10 more mins here.

Is Gary Sanchez worth holding until Adley gets back? Naylor is best option, but why spend another buck?
Thanks for all you do.
Brent Hershey

Yes

Sounds like Sheehan could be up after his next AAA outing. What's the upside ROS?
Brent Hershey
1:01
Think him and Chase Burns will be great adds for 2H

AL only.  Likely to drop Sugano and Severino for Dobbins and KRocker.  What do you think?
Brent Hershey
1:02
Yes to Rocker, not sure about Dobbins. Might keep Sugano

Does Ryan Pressly carry any value for the rest of the season in NL only league?
Brent Hershey

A bit, but Hodge's return is one more hurdle to saves (assuming that's your goal)

Looking at next year, would you rather have Schlitter or Boyle on your pitching staff?
Brent Hershey

Boyle. Gimme Rays
Carl

Romano droppable in an 11 team NL only?  Not really helping me.
Brent Hershey
1:04
Depends. Will still get a couple saves this month I'd think before they add someone. Def frustrating, though.
Bill Warts
1:05
Is there a clear preference between Ward, Adell, Josh Lowe, and Barger ROS?  Thanks!
Brent Hershey
1:05
I'd want Barger (1st) or Adell (still a bit of a BA risk)
Rick

I kind of expected a lot more from Nootbaar. Now they are platooning him. Is he just going through a rough patch or was he overrated?
Brent Hershey
1:05
Rough patch exacerbated by playing through an injury

I don't know how to rank these 3B for ROS and Dynasty League. Lewis (who is always hurt), Jung (who is almost always hurt), Shaw (who looks overmatched now and I don't see where his power will come from in the future. Thanks Brent and have a great week!
Brent Hershey
1:06
Shaw (though hear ya on the power; I just still love overall game); Jung, Lewis

Hi Brent, thanks for the chat. Is Brandon Walter projecting as a 12 team mixed starter ROS?  Results have been great but low velocity and lack of track record are unnerving.
Brent Hershey
1:07
Bounceback from that one rough outing was impressive; skills were still good in that ugly surface one. Right on the cusp of 12-tm relevance for me; but I've taken the plunge.

Hello Brent - snagged Walter HOU and Lopez ATH in 12 team mixed roto. PQS logs promising.  What does your crystal ball show for both of these waiver wire gems?
Brent Hershey
1:08
Like em both. Each have warts, inexperience being a big one. Ks/dominance has me leaning Lopez a bit more
