Chat is open. This is not like Google chat. I will get a question, give an answer, select a new question after that

boxers or briefs
William Lloyd
12:01
none

12:02
Where is Bryce going to sign?
William Lloyd
12:02
Don't care as long as it's before Friday so we can finalize Robles

in years 2+ when we want to make a trade and need to "know the contract" -- is there going to be a database available to look at or it is a manual clearing house
William Lloyd
12:03
Players should have they contract year next to them on Fantrax. If they are Year 3 or higher that's the price for the rest of their contract.
I will be updating the league datasheet every monday
12:04
If you trade for a guy who is Year 2 know you will need to make an extension decision at the end of the season. If you decide not to extend him you still have him for Year 3 before his contract retires
chaosintejas
12:05
i assume "year 1" for a prospect is whichever year you have them on your MLB roster... i.e., no service time stuff
William Lloyd
12:06
MiLB players will be Year 1 as long as they are not called up to the bigs...no many how many seasons that may be. I will manually revert them to Year 1 each year.
If a MiLB player gets their call to the bigs, the contract clock will start

best guess: wat's overvalued and wat's undervalued in the auction?
William Lloyd
12:07
From a money perspective, eye of the beholder. In the league XBH and HRs are king and SB is a nice kiss
For pitchers Ks. You don't get dinged too much for ERs

what is the greatest threat to modern human society
William Lloyd
12:07
Possibly our Google chats
12:08
I think people may over index on "negative" stats
ERs, Hits against, errors, etc.

if you had to kick out one team owner named Bob from our league(s), who would it be?
William Lloyd
12:10
Good thing we only have Roberts
legally...Jasons
12:11
I am going to do an example of MiLB stuff while we wait for questions.
12:12
Lets say you win Vlad Jr. in the MiLB draft. He will be $1. He will be on a perpetual Year 1 contract until he gets a MLB call up. Once he gets the call Year 1 is the season of the call up. So if he gets called up in August...August 2019 is Year 1 and next season is Year 2. SEPTEMBER CALL UPS WILL NOT COUNT.
12:13
So Vlad gets called up in April. He is now on a MLB contract and cannot revert back to being a MiLB player.
End of year 2 you have a decision to make. Do yoiu extend him?
12:14
If you decide yes, you can extend him up to 3 more years (so out to Year 6). Each additional year adds $5 to his salary
So if you extend him to year 6 you have him locked in and he will now be $16 a year starting year 3 onwards
chaosintejas
12:14
do you envision anyone "tanking" in year 1? i assume there are no league guardrails against this? i.e., if a team wants to punt 2019 for 2021+ that's their prerogative...
William Lloyd
12:15
Yes. You're $100 you can do with it as you please
But please don't tank if you can avoid it. You will not have fun and eventually leave and we're stuck with a potential dog of a team
chaosintejas
12:15
ahhhhh --- good pt of clarification on expanded roster call-ups... thanks... is this a question?
William Lloyd
12:15
Nope, just thinking outside the box
charlie finklestein
12:15
can you not decide to extend him after year 3?
William Lloyd
12:16
No. extension decisions are ONLY after year 2. What you decide is locked in, for better or worse
Year 2 of the players contract...not the league
Robert
12:16
hey, why would anyone want to kick me out?
William Lloyd
12:16
i know, you're downright enjoyable. And in my division
charlie finklestein
12:16
so if you sign them to a 3 year extension, you have them actually for the next 4 years
William Lloyd
12:17
Bingo. You add 3 years to their 3 year contract (3+3)
