It's in the rulebook
Year 1 it's 75%
So for 41 guys...no big
$1
For high cost guys that SUCKS
12:31
I say this to be mindful on risk-reward bidding
If a player retires during the season their contract is immediately off your books
chaosintejas
12:31
how is rounding done
William Lloyd
12:31
two decimal places
chaosintejas
12:32
but we can only bid in integers, correct
William Lloyd
12:32
yes to keep it clean
And so Nick doesn't keep upbidding you a penny
So if you cut a $41 guy in year 1 you still have $30.75 left on your book
you only freed up $10.25
12:33
Granted...you can still make good moves for that much
12:34
Back to Steven's earlier question:
- Guys with less MLB draft cash have to be strategic on bids and who they will get. Might have to do some more work to find diamonds in the rough.
- Guys with more MLB draft cash need to be aware you have extensions to consider in the future and if you use all that cash you have less flexibility throughout the course of the season as you are now closer to the cap

thats slander
William Lloyd
12:35
Or is it libel? which one is print?
chaosintejas
12:38
so let's go through an example... draft a guy for $50 and cut him 3 weeks in... cap hit of $37.50 for Y1 and nothing thereafter... $25 if Y2... $12.50 if Y3... extension would be yrs x $5... Y4 cut 10% of the new number... Y5 5%.... Y6 nothing
William Lloyd
12:38
Let me do the math
12:39
YES
J-Bob
12:39
libel is print
William Lloyd
12:39
Thanks Bob
Then I committed libel....oh wai---
12:41
Lets talk Minors eligibility
It's green flag and/or 1000 MLB ABs and less than 360 MLB IPs in their career
12:42
So all your MiLB draft picks are Minors eligible
Some of your MLB players are also Minors eligible
Mike Silva clown
12:42
I like the cut off date at the all star break.
William Lloyd
12:42
That is some hard ball
12:43
So an example of a Minors eligible MLB player: Ronald Acuna
Because he has less than the ABs/IPs limit
And example of a green flag player who is NOT Minors eligible: Mark Reynolds
Because he is old as dirt and exceeded the MLB AB limits years ago
regardless of his green flag
nick
12:44
so no adds or drops in the playoffs right?
William Lloyd
12:45
I...hadn't thought of that. In our other league we allowed playoff teams to make adds and drops
I was content with that
Mike Silva clown
12:45
Being MiLB eligible for 360 MLB innings means many relievers will be minor league eligible for many years.   You may want to consider changing it to 50-60 games played which keeps starters eligible for about 2 full season and relievers for just over 1 full season.

fantrax only allows me to do it by IP and cannot differentiate between SP or RP
