He only has one option remaining fwiw so it's this year or next.

With Castellanos and Schwarber flanking Marsh in outfield, and no shifts in infield add a run or so to Phillies team era in 2023?
Brad Johnson
1:17
If anything, I think their defense is improved.
1:18
Marsh is an upgrade over what they ran out there the first half season. They had Schwarber and Casty in the lineup most days. They have an opportunity to use Sosa and a backup OFer more often while Harper is out.

Are you in any big money leagues?   Can you say how much your highest $ league is?
Brad Johnson
1:19
I'm taking it easy this year. I have a lot of midseason travel planned.
Historically, $1000 on the high end. Typically more in the $100 range.

What round would you expect Spenser Strider to be picked in, or what pitchers do think are likely to be picked around the same time
Brad Johnson
1:21
He's between the 5th and 10th SP. 3rd round for a 12-teamer.
Possibly earlier if your league goes SP hungry or pushes back the two CL going ahead of him.

Speaking to younglings on the left side of the diamond (potentially) - who has the better year, Ezequiel Tovar or Brett Baty?
Brad Johnson
1:21
From a fantasy perspective, Baty is a lot closer to a finished product.
1:22
Tovar is mostly a glove with promising potential as a hitter some years from now\

When ever I see your name I’d think of Brad Johnson the QB throwing a pass and then catching it.    Credited for throwing and receiving a TD.

Will any A's players be worth owning
Brad Johnson
1:22
Yes! Probably more A's than Tigers imo. They have a lot of cool players who fit fantasy roles
1:23
I think Laureano will be flat out good in a mid-lineup role.
Esteury Ruiz could be an OFing Jorge Mateo
1:24
Seth Brown, Aguilar, Langeliers all have their uses. Even Peterson, Kemp, and Noda might be useful.
On the pitching side, Fujinami is a wild card, Waldichuk has good stuff grades, and May could bounce back as a solid CL after an off year.
ONeil Cruz
1:25
Over 50% K rate vs lefties! Why are ppl so high on him?
Brad Johnson
1:25
He's one of the most gifted athletes in professional sports. A small sample flop in his rookie year isn't all that discouraging.
1:26
The thing about Cruz is he has a path to being the #1 roto performer. He's going after pick 100 so all the downside is priced in too.

What MLB game will be the first you attend this season?
Brad Johnson
1:27
I don't have anything scheduled as yet. I usually stick to Triple-A games.

How would you rank Termarr Johnson, Elijah Green and Jackson Merrill in order of superstar potential?
Brad Johnson
1:28
Same asset class. I like Merrill a teeny bit more. Ask again in June and you're liable to get a very different answer.

What do you think of closing opportunities for Duran and Munoz? They break thru or maybe a year away.
Brad Johnson
1:29
This is a good question, but my answer is I don't know. Munoz in particular is a Top 5 reliever in my book, but he has some pretty spiffy teammates too.
Duran's more in the 10-15 range among relievers and doesn't have the same caliber of competition
Jorge Lopez is a bit of a mystery
1:30
Griffin Jax and Caleb Thielbar are just good enough to close in a pinch but fit better as high leverage MIRP.
Ruler
1:30
How much more are you valuing left handed power hitters given the shift ban? And how is your approach re steals affected by the pickoff/base size rule changes?
Brad Johnson
1:32
Obviously, I'm getting a lot of questions about the rule changes. I probably should have led with one of them. The short answer is I'm not adjusting. The long answer is I did some math and determined it didn't matter if I forecast changes or not. The effects are leaguewide and should be felt fairly evenly. I'll have my eyes open for teams talking about running more. There are certain clubs already keen to run who might become even more aggressive.

What round should I target Varsho?
Brad Johnson
1:34
Round 3 of a 12 teamer. Could get into the early bit of Round 4, but you're risking losing him.
Which is fine. I'm assuming you want to build a strategy around him which usually means reaching a bit.

Are the high-end closers really worth going after?
Brad Johnson
1:35
I don't know. If you're seeing the wild ADPs, remember those are based off NFBC formats with no trading and limited means for talent acquisition
Let's see, Diaz is 23 ADP and Clase is 28 ADP. I'd probably look for them at least 10 picks later or go for Hader.
